Summary
Mortal Kombat 2star Lewis Tan reveals which cast member is best at playing the video game. The upcoming movie is a sequel to 2021’s game adaptation, which followed fighters representing Earthrealm who were thrown into a deadly tournament against the forces of Outworld. The original movie ended with Earthrealm claiming a much-needed victory. While it saw many fighters lose their lives,Mortal Kombat 2will seeformerly dead foes return through magical means, curses, and mind control to wreak havoc on the heroes.
WithMortalKombat2roughly a year away, Tan revealed which actor dominates in the actual game while talking toScreen Rantat San Diego Comic-Con. While Liu Kang and Kung Lao actors Ludi Lin and Max Huang are impressive, Sub-Zero actor Joe Taslim stands above all, according to Tan. Check out Tan’s response below:

It depends who you’re asking. If you talk to Ludi Lin, who plays Liu Kang, he knows the game quite well. Max Huang, who plays Kung Lao, he knows the game very well. I don’t know about the rest of the cast, sorry guys. [Laughs] Oh, no, no, no, I’m sorry, I almost blanked, Joe Taslim, who plays Sub-Zero, he’s the best out of all of us at the video game. The guy is the truth, a real gamer. If you follow him on social media, he’s constantly posting his own accomplishments in the video game world. Yeah, his gamer tag is B1HAN, by the way. B-1-han. So, he’s about to get blown up now.
How Are Kung Lao And Sub-Zero Back In Mortal Kombat 2?
Taslim’s return alongside Mortal Kombat 2’s new cast members holds all its foundations within the core canon of the series.
While Cole and Liu Kang emerged victorious in theMortal Kombatending, both Kung Lao and Sub-Zero were brutally killed. While Kung Lao’s killer changed from the current game lore, his circumstances align with how the character was handled in the game until he was brought back as a revenant by Quan-Chi in 2011’s reboot game. Furthermore, Quan-Chi may already have a hand in Sub-Zero’s return ifMortal Kombat 2directly adapts the game.

Mortal Kombat 2’s New Video Game Character Addition Makes Those Noob Saibot Theories Even More Likely
Between Mortal Kombat’s ending and the sequel’s new characters, Sub-Zero’s return as Noob Saibot in Mort Kombat 2 is all but confirmed.
Within the lore ofMortal Kombat, Bi-Han is taken by Quan-Chi and revived as an undead servant, taking on the name Noob Saibot and trading his ice powers for a mastery over darkness. As such, Taslim’s return alongsideMortal Kombat 2’s new cast membersholds all its foundations within the core canon of the series. For Kung Lao, however, his return may be manifested through Liu Kang’s guilt-ridden visions, or by bringing his revenant return forward in the movie timeline.
While the circumstances around theirMortal Kombat 2returns may be unknown, it is clear that Huang and Taslim’s video game skills are a match for their characters' prowess. Tan’s praise of their gaming skills, as well as Lin’s, show that there are several people within the movie’s cast who are fans of the game, and thus care very much about the property. Now, with Tan sharing Taslim’s game-tag, the movie universe’s Sub-Zero may not be free from new Kombatants challenging his crown anytime soon.
