Before Aqua was Aqua, he was a gynecologist named Dr. Goro. He can be blamed for not acquiring his mom’s skills for performing, as he was never really a performer himself. When Ai is filming for a movie role, Aqua gets scouted by the director. The director is impressed by his vocabulary and invites him to perform as a creepy child on his movie set. At first, Aqua is overthinking the role. After a failed attempt, he relaxes andlets his mid-30s intellect flow through his 5-year-old body.
The result is so creepy not even Aqua’s fellow actors can handle it.The director praises him for his ability and the audience sees an entirely new side of Aqua they may not have wanted. He’s creepy, cunning, and smart enough to know what everyone expects from him and how to achieve it.

The First Death Caused by Aqua’s Future Father
Dr. Goro was a great gynecologist. While he was a huge B Komachi and Ai fan,he was her doctor first, putting her health above all else. Dr. Goro got to know Ai during her stay at his hospital. He got to see a different side of her than the one she portrayed during her performances and loved her even more for it. When he was helping Sarina, the patient who would become Ruby,he was gentle, warm, and understanding.His competent yet caring character was someone easy to root for,making his death hard to watch.
He chased down the elusive man asking about Ai. When he found him, the man pushed him off a cliff where he fell and eventually died from his injuries. His death was the first in the series and let everyone know the toneOshi no Kowould be taking.

Aqua’s main goal in life is to find out who his father is and get his revenge. When a producer offered him information about Ai’s love life in exchange for an appearance on a reality dating show, it was an easy decision. He joined the show and was fairly disinterested until he met Akane Kurokawa,a woman who profiled his mom better than he ever could.Aqua makes the decision to kiss Akane on screen for a couple of reasons.

Oshi no Koisn’t the lightest of shows, so when Pieyon made Akane and Ruby workout with him in his bird mask,it was hilarious.Pieyon is a hugely popular YouTuber with a lot of followers. He shares the same agency as the new B Komachi group and is asked to make a collaboration video with the girls. He agrees under the condition that they do one of his workouts with him for an hour straight.
Much to his surprise,both of the girls lasted the entire workout.He even admits that he was planning on editing the video if they couldn’t make it. Because they did, he gains a new respect for them and decides to help them even more in the future.His bird mask, weird voice, and jacked body are a funny edition to the first season.

Aqua is an idol otaku in two different lives. When he was Dr. Goro, he was dancing along to all of B Komachi’s songs with glow sticks in the hospital. Now as Aqua, he’s doing it all over again. When Ruby, Akane, and Mem-Cho revive B Komachi and perform all their old songs again,Aqua is more than ready.He heads to their first performance with a glow-stick colored for each girl and dances like a one-man army.
Akane is in her head before he comes to the performance. She’s worried that nobody has come to support her, until she sees Aqua in the crowd.His passionate dance reinvigorates Akane and gives her the courage to perform her heart out.She also decides at that moment to make Aqua fall in love with her no matter what.

She ends up jumping from a bridge during her walk back home.Right as her feet leave the railing, Aqua grabs her. He yanks her back down to Earth where she screams and cries at him for stopping her. Aqua tells her that everything is going to be alright,reassuring her and saving her life.

Aqua will do anything to get more information about his mother’s and his own murders. When he heard that Akane was working on a project with Masaya Kaburagi, a man with ties to Ai, he jumped at the bit. He joined the project as the creepy villain set to appear in the last episode. While he was no longer confident in his acting abilities, Akane was. Her faith paid off asAqua delivered a stellar performance that went off script to get the best out of the environment he was in and the actors he was with.
Akane started to pay extra close attention to him after this performance. He also caught the eyes of a few other directors and producers, paving the way for Aqua toact more in season two. It’s nice to seeAqua’s skills as a child actor didn’t go anywhere.

Aqua Was Speechless for the First Time
Aqua is ruthless, calculated, and hyper-intelligent. He’s two steps ahead of everyone around him, soit was nice to see him speechless for once when Akane started acting like Ai.Akane was looking for a way to get Aqua’s attention. He mentioned loving Ai Hoshino, a former legendary idol who was murdered a long time ago. Akane then studies Ai’s performances thoroughly, profiling her to get to know her even more intimately.
It worked like a charm. The first time Aqua saw her, he couldn’t do anything but agree with her.When Ruby saw her on screen, she reacted by saying “Mom?".Akane is known for her genius skills, and they show when she’s acting like Ai. Aqua is intrigued by the fact that she can act just like Ai, making Akane think she can slowly make him fall in love with her.
2New B Komachi is Unveiled
B Komachi and the B Stands for Back
B Komachi was the name of Ai’s award-winning idol group during the first episode ofOshi no Ko.After Ai’s murder, the band fizzled out, playing for a couple more years before disbanding. Ruby joined Strawberry Productions as an idol, the same production company her mother Ai was part of.She decides to name her new idol group B Komachi again, reusing her mother’s old songs in honor of her. The entirety ofOshi no Kotakes place in Ai’s shadow,so it’s nice to see her memory being honored in this way.
B Komachi’s first performance is a hit. Aqua comes to support and dances like nobody’s watching, or maybe like everyone is.Ruby is electric on stage, making even the most dedicated of otakus compare her directly to the legendary Ai.It’s the first of many for the new B Komachi.

Ai Hoshino was the poster child ofOshi no Koseason one. She’s gorgeous, her animation is bright and vivacious, andher eyes look like the stars themselves.To say her death came out of nowhere would be an understatement. The first episode ofOshi no Kois a deceptive hour and a half, adapting the first ten chapters of the manga. The directors made sure not to release the first part ofOshi no Kopiece by pieceso that as few people as possible would get spoiled and it worked.
Ai answers the door to a fan waiting with flowers,only to get stabbed in the mid-section.She immediately forgives the fan, recounting their past encounter at a meet-and-greet. He flees the scene in shame to later commit suicide. Ai then bleeds out holding Aqua, telling him and Ruby that because of them,she was finally able to say “I love you” and mean it.
