4 Reasons Why the 15-inch MacBook Air Is the Best Laptop Apple Sells
The MacBook Air is an incredibly popular laptop for users who want to perform basic tasks. However, it has only come in a 13-inch model since the 11-inch version was discontinued years ago.
At WWDC 2023, though, Apple announced the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air, and there are multiple valid reasons why it might be the best laptop Apple sells currently.

1. It’s the Perfect Size
Before the 15-inch MacBook Air, Apple offered three MacBook sizes: 13-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch. Each of these sizes has tradeoffs when using them.
The 13-inch MacBooks, while the most portable, can be a bit small at times if you tend to do a lot of work on your laptop and have multiple windows open on your virtual desktop. The 14-inch MacBook Pro has a slightly bigger display, but the laptop is considerably thicker thanthe M2 MacBook Air, and the difference in display size doesn’t make a significant impact.

Lastly, the 16-inch MacBook Pro offers an incredible screen in a large footprint, but that machine is the heaviest laptop that Apple sells at 4.7 or 4.8 pounds, depending on which processor you choose, and is considered by many as too large to take on the go.
Fortunately, the 15-inch MacBook Air has the perfect display size in a thin and light design. You can see more of your content since it has a large display, but the laptop is not a burden to carry around. It’s a good balance between size, thickness, and weight.
2. Excellent Performance and Upgrade Options
Just like the 13-inch version, the 15-inch MacBook Air includesthe M2 chip, which delivers solid performance for Apple’s entry-level chip. The 15-inch MacBook Air uses the 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU variant as standard, so there is only one option to choose from when selecting your machine.
Even though there aren’t any options for upgrading the CPU and GPU, you can upgrade theunified memoryto 16GB or 24GB. In addition, you can also get up to 2TB of SSD storage, so you can have plenty of local storage while on the go.

While it doesn’t pack Apple’s top-of-the-line specifications, the 15-inch MacBook Air delivers more than enough performance for most people.
3. The Battery Life Is Solid
Thanks toApple silicon, the 15-inch MacBook Air gets excellent battery life. Apple states the laptop gets 15 hours of wireless web browsing and 18 hours of Apple TV movie playback. That’s plenty for regular users who want to use a MacBook Air for school work, browsing the web, checking email, and more.
You won’t have to worry about the laptop draining quickly, meaning you won’t have to charge it all the time.

4. It’s a Great Value
The 15-inch MacBook Air starts at a compelling price of $1,299. That configuration includes the M2 chip, 256GB of SSD storage, and 8GB of RAM. Despite having an arguably small amount of SSD storage and RAM, $1,299 for the 15-inch MacBook Air is a solid value. You get Apple silicon’s amazing performance and battery life, a premium design, and a large display.
Before, if you wanted a display size larger than 13 inches, you had to spend $1,999 on a 14-inch MacBook Pro or $2,499 for a 16-inch MacBook Pro. Now, you may get a MacBook with a big display for a lot less.
The 15-inch MacBook Air Strikes the Perfect Balance Between Size and Portability
The 15-inch MacBook Air is an excellent choice for consumers who want a MacBook with a large screen without breaking the bank. It also includes a premium design, long-lasting battery life, and a powerful processor, despite how thin and light it is for a 15-inch laptop.
From a value standpoint, it’s an excellent option when you compare it to the higher-end 14-inch MacBook Pro.
Just because the 14-inch MacBook Pro is better doesn’t make it suitable for everyone. For some, the cheaper 15-inch MacBook Air would be perfect.
