However, the method of application varies slightly.

The three Perk Specialties inBlack Ops 6are Enforcer, Recon, and Strategist. Each one performs a particular objective better than the others, so a well-balanced team will need a mix of players with different Perk Specialties. Here’s how each of them works inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Enforcer, Recon, & Strategist Explained

Perk Specialties forBlack Ops 6were leaked in a post on X (formerly Twitter) byModernWarzone. The first, Enforcer, creates a DPS-focused build. Once they’ve activated the Enforcer Perk Specialty, players will receive bonuses to movement speed and health regeneration each time they kill an enemy. The second, Recon, is a stealth build focused on finding and reporting the locations of enemies. This one allows the player to see enemies through walls, and gives them an extra HUD indicator to alert them when an enemy moves out of their view. Players with the Recon Perk Specialty also won’t leave skulls on the map when they kill enemies.

The final Perk Specialty leaked forBlack Ops 6is Strategist. This creates a buildideal for completing map objectives and supporting teammates, granting the player a score bonus when they, say, capture a point. They’ll also have bonuses when destroying enemy placements, while their own deployments and field upgrades will be deployed faster.

How Perk Specialties Work In CoD: Black Ops 6

Perks Vs. Perk Specalties

Although similar to perks in nature, Perk Specialties take a little more effort to activate. Players can still choose perks as they level up, but each perk is sorted into one of the three categories: Enforcer, Recon, and Specialist.Once they have at least three perks in a particular category, they’ll receive the relevant Perk Specialty. At present, it’s unknown whether players will be able to have multiple Perk Specialties at once, or whether there are higher ranks for Perk Specialties granted when the player has more than three relevant perks.

Each Perk Specialty is also assigned a color, which makes it easier to tell which perks are related to which Specialties. Enforcer is red, Recon is blue, and Strategist is green.

In theory,Perk Specialties seem to encourage players to focus on a specific playstyle for each of their characters, combining similar buffs to give their characters targeted builds. This gives players a little more control over their Operators' strengths and weaknesses, while still sticking to a pretty rigid set of pre-approved builds. How they work in practice remains to be seen until afterCall of Duty: Black Ops 6is released on August 17, 2025.
