Black Friday is right around the corner, and though online shopping crowds might be less daunting than the in-person mobs, cyber-retailers aren’t immune from items going out of stock. While most will flock to Amazon on Friday, November 29th, you’re able to skirt the masses at these alternative retailers for impressive tech deals.
Before Amazon became a top tech shop, there was Best Buy, and the retailer still kept pace with competitive discounts in person and online. Like Amazon, Best Buy offers same-day or two-day shipping on most items, and it’s free on orders over $35. Store pickup is also available, which is an option you don’t get with Amazon.
According to aBest Buy announcement, you can preview the “top Black Friday Tech through a new immersive experience” on the site, showing the products that are about to go on sale. Better yet, that sale is not limited to just one day—Best Buy unveils new “doorbusters,” or best discounts, every Friday for the entire month of November.
In terms of variety, Best Buy is probably the online shop most closely matched with Amazon. Its Black Friday tech deals range from discounted MacBooks and 4K smart TVs to handheld game systems and home appliances. Best Buy even sells massage products from Therabody, which is featured onGoogle’s 2024 list of trending tech gifts.

Also boasting an ample tech inventory is Walmart, and the superstore slashes its already low prices for Black Friday. Like other retailers, Walmart starts early, dropping deals online throughout the month. Its first wave of discounts launched on 11/1, with a second and third wave starting on 11/25 and 12/1, respectively.
Walmart’s Black Friday deals will also be accompanied by an AI-powered shopping assistant to help you answer questions while you browse and enhance search results, similar to howGoogle integrated Gemini with its shopping platform.
While you don’t have previews of deals about to drop like with Best Buy, here are some current deals available online at Walmart:

Similarly, Walmart offers store pickup and two-day shipping on applicable products.
Target has already kicked off its Early Black Friday Sale this year, with new deals dropping every Sunday. If up to 50% off tech isn’t attractive enough, you also get access to the company’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee until Christmas Eve. The guarantee means that if you purchase something today and it later sells for less, you can get the difference refunded.

Of course, when superstores are out of stock, you can also go directly to the source for your Black Friday deals. Companies like Apple, Samsung, and Nintendo are getting in the “holiday” spirit with discounts and rewards.

While Apple doesn’t have Black Friday discounts at its stores, it does hand out gift vouchers of up to $200 for buying certain products on November 29th.
Amazon might be largest online retailer in the world, but it’s not the only source for the best tech deals. If you’re looking for something specific, don’t forget to do a cost or stock comparison at one of these other retailers. Personally, I plan to avoid both the crowds and potential shipping delays by scheduling curbside pickups from Best Buy.
