Fanart Design by Kakeru (@DBSKAKERU1)

Bursting onto the scene with a character design, signature weapon, and level of power fans couldn’t get enough of, once Trunks arrived from his Android-plagued future and took down Frieza without breaking a sweat, it was clear thatDragon Ballhad changed forever. Making himself an invaluable fighter and friend for the remainder of the Android/Cell Saga,Future Trunks, especially the long-haired, bulked-up version of him seenpost-Hyperbolic Time Chamber trainingwith Vegeta, has always been held up as a fan-favorite and incredibly badass iteration of the character, with this fanart capitalizing on that look perfectly.

Showing Future Trunks tossing his jacket on as he walks away from another hard-fought win, Kakeru draws Trunks with long wind-blown hair, ripped pants, and a black tank top while brandishing his signature sword — of which, it should be noted, is chipped and stained with crimson liquid. Also depicting Trunks looking behind him and just off-screen — no doubt glancing at what remains of his defeated opponent —it’s the light scratches and bruises on Trunks’ face and body that hint that while Trunks may have been tested in battle, it was barely enough to warrant any real injuries or worry.

Dragon Ball

From the creative mind of Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball is a mega multimedia franchise that spans back to the 1980s. Dragon Ball expanded quickly, starting as a serialized manga for Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan. It made its way overseas via manga and an anime adaptation that is enjoyed worldwide. Dragon Ball was the initial starting animated series that followed the adventures of the young Son Goku as he sought after the Dragon Balls. These mystical orbs would grant the wish of any who gathered them together. Then, the series would branch off into the immensely popular Dragon Ball Z, which followed Goku as an adult and featured high-intensity battles and Goku’s never-ending search to be the strongest. The series has also enjoyed several popular video game adaptations and continues to release several new animated series and theatrical films up to the recent popular Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
