TheGenshin Impact5.5 character banners have allegedly leaked, and, with them, a glimpse at what developer HoYoverse may prioritize in terms of gameplay mechanics during the patch.Version 5.5 is still a few weeks from arriving as the action RPG has just entered Version 5.4. The current patch is significantly smaller than its predecessor, focused solely on limited-time events and with no inclusion of new Archon Quests since the main Natlan story arc has concluded. Now, the Version 5.5 beta tests are shifting some of the attention toward the upcoming content, such asVaresa’s Ascension materials inGenshin Impact.
While the next patch will likely not have new Archon Quests, it is already expected to be much larger than Version 5.4.There are mentions of a new map expansion to Natlan in Version 5.5 (more specifically, the Great Volcano of Tollan), two brand-new playable characters, a new tribe, a new saurian type, and even new Artifact sets to farm for current characters, and, possibly, future units. There are even rumors about anew Natlan map mechanic inGenshin Impact5.5that should make exploration in the rumored area more challenging, but in what seems like a positive way.

Two New Characters Are Confirmed For Genshin Impact 5.5
Some Of The 4-Stars With Increased Drop Rates Have Also Leaked
As has already been confirmed by the developer, two new characters will make their debuts as playable characters during Version 5.5. The first of them is Varesa, an Electro character rumored to have a 5-star rating and use a catalyst in battle – which would enable her to deal Electro DMG with her Normal and Charged Attacks. The second new character is Iansan, who has been an important NPC during the Natlan story arc. Confirmed to be an Electro character,Iansan inGenshin Impact5.5is rumored to be a 4-star character who fights with a polearm in battle.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: How Many Primogems Are Available In The Next Update
An estimation of the Primogems obtainable in Genshin Impact 5.5 has been shared, based on the leaks provided for the upcoming patch so far.
While these two characters have been confirmed by HoYoverse through drip marketing posts on social media, the other rerun characters have been revealed by the leaker known as HomDGCat. Shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit, the leak shows that Varesa, as a rumored 5-star character, should star in her dedicated banner, while the alleged rerun 5-star characters are Xianyun, Xilonen, and Venti. The leak also suggests that Iansan, Gaming, Faruzan, Beidou, and Yanfei may have increased drop rates as 4-star characters in theGenshin Impact5.5 character banners, though in an unspecified banner phase order.

Leaked Phase 1 Character Banners In Genshin Impact 5.5
The First Banners May Be Centered Around Plunging Attacks
It’s important to note that the banner phase order is not mentioned in the leak, but it is possible to speculate on which characters will appear in which order based on their gameplay mechanics and their general theme. Since thenew Natlan map area inGenshin Impact5.5, which allegedly contains the Collective of Plenty tribe, is expected to be one of the largest pieces of content,it would make perfect sense for Varesa and Iansan, both members of the Collective of Plenty, to be introduced in Phase 1 bannersas they would be put under the spotlight during quests.
Genshin Impact’s Low-Content Seasons Are Becoming A Problem That New Updates Should Definitely Address
Genshin Impact has always had periods of low content income, but lately, the feeling of staleness is looking extremely worrying for its future.
The leaks about Varesa’s kit indicate that she will be a DPS unit focused on dealing damage to enemies with her Plunging Attack. The rumors say that her Charged Attack sees her charge into enemies and propel into the air, allowing her to follow up with a Plunging Attack.Varesa’s leaked Elemental Skill is also said to help her deal a Charged Attack without consuming Stamina and she is even rumored to have a state in which her Plunging Attacks help her restore Nightsoul points. Overall, Plunging Attacks seem to be the backbone ofVaresa’s kit inGenshin Impact5.5.

Even one of Varesa’s leaked passives, as seen onHoney Hunter World, allegedly benefits her Plunging Attacks.
Because of Varesa’s rumored specialty with Plunging Attacks, it would make sense if she ran alongside a Xianyun rerun banner. This is because the 5-star character from Liyue is a support for team comps centered around Plunging Attack DMG. She is one of the best supports for Xiao, for example, who is a Plunging Attack DPS. Xianyun also enables other characters to deal Plunging Attacks more frequently and, because of the buffs she can provide to this type of damage, she would be a perfect fit for Varesa’s team comp if theGenshin Impact5.5 leaks about her are true.

Xianyun’s passive skills don’t only boost Plunging Attack DMG consistently, but one of them even buffs her allies’ Plunging Attack CRIT Rate, making it even more likely for them to land a CRIT hit on enemies for increased damage.Since her release, she has become indispensable for Plunging Attack team comps, and, with Varesa’s main source of damage being that specific type of attack, a rerun centered aroundXianyun inGenshin Impact5.5 along with Varesa in Phase 1 banners seems more than likely.
Leaked Phase 2 Character Banners In Genshin Impact 5.5
Xilonen May Get Her First Rerun Ever
With both Varesa and Xianyun likely running in Phase 1 banners for Version 5.5, the two other leaked reruns should occur in Phase 2.Xilonen is well-established as one of the best support units, capable of RES shredding enemies based on the elements her team comp uses. She can also double as a healer, but her main job is to make opponents more susceptible to the damage from her team and she’s excellent at it.Xilonen’s rerun inGenshin Impacthas long been awaited since she first left the banners, so this may be a prime opportunity to obtain her.
Genshin Impact 5.5 New Artifacts Leaks Seem To Show How Skirk Will Work In The New Update
Two new Artifact sets have been leaked for Genshin Impact 5.5 and one of them may have just revealed how Skirk’s gameplay kit will work.
Venti, on the other hand, is not as strong as he once was in the meta, but is still a great unit to have. The 5-star Archer from Mondstadt can operate as either a DPS or a Swirl support character and he is fairly good in either job.Between him and Xilonen, the Geo character from Natlan is still a better choice, but Venti is not to be overlooked, especially if players already have him and want to increase his Constellation levels or possibly obtain his signature 5-star weaponinGenshin Impact.

For now, these leaks are still highly subject to change, both in terms of the selected 5-star reruns and the banner Phase order for the patch. As such, they should be taken with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, Version 5.5 is building up to be a good patch for pulls; Varesa seems like a fun and promising Plunging DPS, and Xianyun is the best support for the job. Furthermore, this is the first time Xilonen is rerunning in banners, offering players who missed her the first time a chance to get one of the most reliable supports inGenshin Impact.
