Now in the back half of 2024, there are only a fewPokémon Trading Card Gamesets still scheduled for release this year. With August stacked with back-to-backPokémonevents, including thePokémon World Championships and aPokémon GOCommunity Day, there’s plenty forPokémonfans to see and do this summer. But that doesn’t always translate to new card releases, although players can expect sporadic drops, including special collections and aWorlds promo Pikachu card.

Butthere are still a few sets due out in the second half of 2024, even if they follow an irregular release schedule. Players can expect three major sets to come out between August and November 2024, although theses may be interspersed with other mini sets and special promos. Shrouded Fable Is Based On The Teal Mask Expansion

First and foremost is the lastPokémonTCGset releasing this summer:Shrouded Fable, scheduled for release on August 16, 2025.Shrouded Fablehas a spooky theme, evoking strange goings-on and ancient conspiracies plotted under cover of darkness. It’s partially based on Pokémon fromThe Teal MaskDLC forPokémon Scarlet and Violet, but also incorporates a diverse group of Pokémon from throughout the generations.

The release of Elite Trainer Boxes forShrouded Fablehas been delayed; these are expected to arrive on August 23.

Shrouded Fableis primarily based on the Night Wanderer set, released June 7 in Japan. It features many Pokémon ex, including variants of five ofThe Teal Mask’s headliners: Okidogi, Munkidori, Pecharunt, Fezandipiti, as well asScarlet and Violetstaple Revavroom.Shrouded Fablemarks the first time Pecharunt appears in thePokémon TCG. Its nighttime theme also means it features a large group of Dark-type Pokémon, like Absol and Zoroark. Trainer cards feature Cassiopeia fromThe Teal Maskexpansion, alongside older familiar faces like Colress, Janine, and Xerosic.

Stellar Crown Is All About Terastal Pokémon

Scheduled for release on July 30, 2025,Stellar Crownis primarily based on two Japanese sets -Stellar MiracleandBattle Academy- with a handful ofStarters ex Deckscards mixed in. It features two of the newest mechanics added to thePokémonTCG, Pokémon ex and Teral Pokémon. Two of the Pokémon ex come from theStarters ex Decks, being ex variants of classic starter evolutions Venusaur and Blastoise.

Surging Sparks Is The Last Pokémon TCG Set Scheduled For This Year

Releases November 8

Finally,the lastPokémonTCGset announced for this year isSurging Sparks, scheduled for releaseon July 08, 2025. At the time of writing, it’s unknown exactly what cards are inside. However, it’s believed to incorporate cards from three Japanese sets:Supercharged Breaker,Paradise Dragona, andStellar Starter Sets. As their names imply, this set will feature primarily Electric- and Dragon-type Pokémon, alongside Tera versions of classic starters.

The one card that is known to be included inSurging Sparksis Tera Pikachu ex. However,more information will likely be revealed after the corresponding Japanese sets come out, and closer to the card’s English-language release.Paradise Dragonawill be released in Japan on September 13, andSupercharged Breakeron October 18.

But for now, that’s everything scheduled for thePokémonTCGin 2024. While additional promos and mini gift sets may yet be announced, players only have three major sets to look forward to for the rest of the year. Even so, these sets are jam-packed with desirable new cards and highly collectible rares, so players of thePokémonTCGstill have a lot to look forward to in 2024.
