Like most Apple Intelligence features, Apple’s Clean Up tool missed the mark. Fortunately, plenty of AI tools do the exact same thing, only better. Out of all of them, there’s one that has never let me down.

Adobe Express’s Remove Object Tool Is the AI Eraser You Need

One of Adobe Express’s AI features isRemove Object, which works much like Apple’s Clean Up tool. Beyond the final result, one of Clean Up’s biggest limitations is that it’s restricted toApple devices compatible with Apple Intelligence. That means you need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer to use it.

Adobe Express’s Remove Object tool has no such restrictions, making it a greatClean Up alternative for older iPhones. The best part? It’s completely free, and you don’t even need an Adobe Express Premium subscription.

I Tried Adobe Express Premium, and It Was Worth It

Adobe Express Premium’s features won me over… here’s why.

Here’s how to remove distracting objects using the Remove Object tool:

For the best results, I’d recommend adjusting the brush size. You can do this by dragging the slider underBrush sizeto the left or right.

If you’re satisfied with a result, simply tapKeep. If none fit what you’re looking for, you can generate more options by swiping right past the results and tappingMore.

Remove Object vs Clean Up: Results Compared

As I mentioned earlier, I believe Adobe Express’s Remove Object tool does a much better job than Apple’s Clean Up tool. Don’t believe me? See for yourself!

I wanted to remove the AirPods case from the image below:

Below are the results. The first image (left) is what I got with Apple’s Clean Up, and the second is what I got with Adobe’s Remove Object.

I don’t know about you, but Clean Up’s results are nowhere near as impressive as what I got with Adobe Express. Sure, it’s not perfect, and I’d still need to fix some discoloration with a bit of editing. But even after multiple attempts to remove the object more neatly with Clean Up, nothing seemed to work. The reason is simple.

This Is the Best AI Image Editing Tool I’ve Ever Used

Easily the best AI image editor I’ve found, with loads of free tools.

Unlike the Remove Object tool, Clean Up doesn’t let you adjust the brush size. Instead, it first tries to automatically recognize objects you might want to remove, letting you tap to erase them.

Otherwise, you have to manually tap, brush, or circle the distraction you want gone. But this doesn’t offer the same level of precision as Adobe Express, where you can increase or decrease the brush size to carefully draw over the object you want to remove.

So, until Clean Up steps up its game, I’ll stick with Adobe Express!
