The popular new isekai onCrunchyrollChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powersjust introduced a new development to the story that could easily be its own premise to a separate comedy series. In fact, it is essentially the sameamusing setup as the underrated animeLevel 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero. And although this new direction is naturally hilarious, the effect inChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powersis very different, though somewhat similar.
Those who’ve watchedLevel 1 Demon Lord and One Room Herocan’t help but see the similarities inChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powersepisode 10, whenthe Dark One comes to live at the hero Flio’s home after abdicating from the demon throne.
That’s what the eponymous Demon Lord does inLevel 1 Demon Lord and One Room Heroonce he resurrects and seeks out Max so they can have their rematch. There’s even an equivalent to Zenia’s character inAnother World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers, Uliminas, who, like Zenia, isn’t happy with her respective Dark One’s choices. There are obvious discrepancies as well, including the fact thatthe overpowered isekai protagonisthasn’t become an unemployed slacker since the last time he saw the Dark One, like Max. However,the premise is ripe with hilarious scenarios and amusing interactions.
Chillin' in Another World’s Setup Is Too Nuanced To Just Be A Comedy

This isn’t the whole case inChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers. Although there have been some amusing reactions to the unexpected development as seen with the human Balirossa, the outcomes are actually pretty serious and build quite well off the preexisting relationships of those involved. In fact, previous episodes have alluded to something like this happening. Although it’s unlikely that many viewers thought it would result in the Dark One coming to live with them, it was implied that there would be a civil war among demonkind and that the Dark One would undoubtedly lose. He was becoming friendly with Flio and his housemates, and for the sake of conflict,there needed to be an unfriendly Dark One leading demonkind.
Of course, viewers can expect some amusing situations to arise from the Dark One living with Flio in subsequent episodes, although there aren’t that many left in the season. However, those who have been keeping up with the anime are undoubtedly laser-locked on how the Dark One and the human Balirossa’s relationship develops.
Episode #10 gave their whole dynamic a reinvigorating shock, since their whole relationship had been based on an amusing misunderstanding that caused the Dark One to pursue Balirossa, much to her terror. However, theseevents allowed Balirossa to express her concerns from a more heartfelt and depressing outlook, while even overcoming her fear of the Dark One by facing him at the end of the episode. Ironically, based on the Dark One’s own personality and impression of her, this will just make him more attracted to her.
What’s so humorous is thatChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers’new development could function as its own premise and actually serves as one inLevel 1 Demon Lord and One Room Hero. The fact that it happened so late in the season ofChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powersalso adds to the overall ridiculousness of the situation. However, what’s so effective is the fact thatChillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers’own dynamics are giving the amusing nature of this hilarious premise a completely different spin that makes the whole predicament stand out even more than it already does.
