The Event Should Occur Weeks Before The Update’s Release In September
Livestreams for upcoming patches tend to occur on Fridays, two weeks before the arrival of the update itself. Seeing that the six-week schedule for each update in the game hints at Version 2.5’s release on September 10,the likely date for theHonkai: Star Rail2.5 livestream is August 30. These special events tend to be presented during the morning, so players can expect the livestream to be broadcast at around 8 or 9 am ET. The information should be confirmed by HoYoverse during the week leading up to the event.

Three New Playable Characters Will Be Released In The Update
As was previously mentioned, three new characters are confirmed for Version 2.5. The first of them Feixiao, is a 5-star Wind character who follows the Path of the Hunt. This means that Feixiao is a main DPS and, according toFeixiao’s leaks inHonkai: Star Rail2.5, she will be a specialist in dealing damage via follow-up attacks. In fact,Feixiao is rumored to continuously deal damage because a lot of her follow-up attacks are triggered once allies attack opponents. The leaks also highlight her stats, which indicate she will have a huge base SPD stat, surpassing that of Seele.
Additionally, another leak about Feixiao mentions that her Technique can gather opponents in the overworld, rendering them incapable of striking her, and then initiating combat by dealing a devastating blow that has a damage increase based on how many enemies were gathered by her tornado. Feixiao is rumored to debut in Phase 1 banners of Version 2.5, alongside a triple rerun made possible by a new banner.This alleged new banner, rumored to appear in Phase 1, will feature reruns for Black Swan, Kafka, and Robin, and players will select their desiredHonkai: Star Railcharacter and pull toward them.
Honkai: Star Rail - Feixiao Ascension & Trace Materials
Most of the materials for Feixiao’s Ascension and Traces in Honkai: Star Rail can already be farmed, though there is some risk in doing so.
The second new character in Version 2.5 is Lingsha. The 5-star Fire character follows the Path of the Abundance, which makes her a healer for team comps. Much like Feixiao, Lingsha is rumored to be a follow-up attack specialist who can be triggered when an enemy loses HP and their HP is below 60%. This means that in team comps with HP-loss at the forefront of combat mechanics, such as ones centered around Blade, for example,Lingsha can continuously heal and dispel debuffs. Rumors based on her kit indicate Lingsha may become thebest healer inHonkai: Star Rail.
Leaks say that Lingsha will make her debut in Phase 2 banners, where she will be a featured 5-star character alongside a rerun of Dr. Ratio. If this is true,this will be Dr. Ratio’s first rerun since his release and F2P (free-to-play) distribution in early 2024. If players missed their chance of obtaining him back then, this may be the best chance. If they already have Dr. Ratio, this is an opportunity to obtain his Eidolons.
Moze, the third and final new character in Version 2.5, is a 4-star Lightning character who follows the Path of the Hunt. He is a main DPS who also specializes in follow-up attacks. The rumors indicate thatMoze will make his debut with increased pull rates in Phase 1 bannersalong with Luka and Asta, both of whom will also have increased pull rates during the first half ofHonkai: Star Rail2.5. The 4-star characters with increased drop rates in Phase 2 banners are, according to leaks, Natasha, Misha, and Guinaifen.
Since he is a 4-star character, Moze will be incorporated into the standard loot pool after his debut.

The Story Arc On The Xianzhou Luofu Will Continue In The Update
The story content for Version 2.5 should pick off exactly where the quests introduced with Version 2.4 came to a halt. During the missions, the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, and Hanya persecute Hoolay, who has successfully escaped the Shackling Prison following an ingenious infiltration plan taking Jiaoqiu along as a hostage. Meanwhile, Feixiao is on the Luofu to interrogate Jing Yuan about the Ambrosial Arbor Crisis. While somewhat separate,the presence of the other representatives from the Xianzhou is certain to collide with the events unfolding in Version 2.5.
Leaks also mentionMoze’s true identity inHonkai: Star Railwill be revealed at the end of the quests.
In addition to the main story content, players will also have access to limited-time events, as per usual in each of the game’s updates.One of the rumored events will give players the equivalent of five free pulls in addition to the regular 10 free pullsthat players get from the regular distribution event in each patch. A new combat mechanic allegedly called Feigned Toughness is also rumored to make its debut in Version 2.5.

Leaks about Honkai: Star Rail’s future indicate that Tingyun will make a meaningful comeback - but there are problems with these rumors.
The leaks should be taken with a grain of salt for now, as they may be incorrect or subject to change, but a lot of these rumors are sustained by previous and accurate leakers. While the main content this year may have ended with the journey through Penacony, the story content is still occurring, even if set in an already well-known destination.Honkai: Star Railis only getting bigger with each update, so new systems like the rumored triple rerun banner also make a lot of sense.
