We’re on the ground in Paris, France, attending the launch of Honor’s latest superb mid-range handset; the Honor 90. The smartphone is officially available for purchase from theHiHonor website, now, and if you’re in the market for a new handset that offers premium features, but won’t break the bank, the Honor 90 series is definitely for you.
Introducing the Honor 90
The Honor 90 is the latest horse to bolt Honor’s mid-range stable. However, it packs a ton of top shelf features that really elevate this handset to a premium pick. From design to specifications, the Honor 90 is ready to pulverize Pixels and smother Samsung’s A-series.
Officially launched in Paris on July 6th, the Honor 90 hits stores with a reasonable price tag; it’ll only set you back £549, which is about $599 if you’re in the States, although Honor has no plans to release the device across the pond (sorry, America).

As we say, the device is available to buy now, and you can grab it from the Honor store.
Honor 90: Fusing Finesse and Function
Let’s face it, the Honor 90 is a great-looking smartphone. The device comes in four colorways; Diamond Silver, Emerald Green, Midnight Black, and Peacock Blue. Honor has sent us the Diamond Silver version for review and it is quite the stunner, packing a really nice rear face design that conveys a sense of elegance not normally associated with mid-range handsets. Our full review will follow next week, so keep an eye out.
In terms of specs, you’ve got a 6.7-inch screen, which features Honor’s sublime quad-curved edges, ensuring a comfortable hand feel when you’re gripping the device. This displays the usual 1.07 billion colors thanks to its 100% compliance with the DCI-P3 color gamut. A 120Hz dynamic refresh rate ensures buttery smoothness when you’re viewing the screen, which is also fully TUV Rheinland certified as flicker free.

The camera is, as with Honor’s previous mid-range handsets, the Honor 80 and 70, excellent, and is designed for creators. So, with that in mind, you get a 200 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultra wide and macro lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, and up front you’ve got a 50 MP sensor for crystal clear selfies.
In terms of the guts of the device, the Honor 90 is running with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen1 Accelerated Edition, which is overclocked to offer a nippier performance. Obviously, with this SoC, you’ve got 5G capabilities.

The handset runs Honor’s MagicOS 7.1 skin, overlaid on top of Android 13, so bang up to date with the software. Plus, you get 66W supercharging (wired only) and a big fat 5000 mAh battery to keep you going for over a day.
DXOMARK Number One Display
It has been a year of number ones for Honor. First off we had the Honor Magic5 Pro packing DXOMARK’s world beating camera sensor. Now, the Honor 90 has arrived with industry-leading PWM dimming. Pulsing at 3840Hz, the screen remains flicker free no matter how much you reduce the brightness of the display, which is obviously great news for your eyeballs considering you only get two of them.
This has earned the Honor 90 top spot on DXOMARK’s list of world leading displays, so you know that this is a screen with some serious chops. DXOMARK’s stamp of approval is testament to the fact. So, if you use your phone to absorb entertainment, then your eyes are going to thank you in the longrun.

So far, we have loved testing the device, and our full review will follow this article, to help you make that all important purchase decision.
