Giovanni has made one change to theJanuary 2025 team inPokémon GO. This seesthe return of the powerful Shadow Palkiato his team as his final Pokémon. The Dragon- and Water-type is one of the strongest Pokémon in the game and only has two weaknesses, making it vital that you set up your team to give you the best possible chance of defeating it. He will again have three waves of Pokémon, with one of three options selected as his second choice in each battle.

Machamp remains your best option and can easily defeat Persian while removing Giovanni’s shields simultaneously. An alternative Fighting- type, such as Lucario, will also work well for this.
