How to Stop Your iPad From Sleeping
In general, iPads are much more flexible devices than we give them credit for. Sure, they’re great for reading and taking notes, but they can also function as anything from a standalone music player to a digital picture frame. If you’ve got an old iPad, there are many great ways to use it, but the auto-sleep feature can be annoying.
Fortunately, there is an easy way to ensure your iPad’s display doesn’t sleep so aggressively. As long as you keep your iPad powered, you can keep its screen on 24 hours a day.

How to Keep Your iPad Screen On
Setting your iPad’s screen to stay on constantly is an easy process. This should be familiar if you’re used tokeeping your iPhone screen unlocked.
Simply open the Settings app and navigate toDisplay & Brightness > Auto-Lock. Here you’ll see multiple options, ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. There’s also an option forNever, which is what you should select here.

Once this is enabled, your iPad’s display won’t automatically go to sleep. If you want to turn the screen off, you still can by pressing the power button.
Will Keeping Your iPad Awake Cause Issues?
If you’re worried that your iPad isn’t intended to stay on all day, it’s understandable, but this shouldn’t be a problem. On older CRT and modern AMOLED displays, screen burn-in can be a problem, leaving a shadow of sorts from the menus of apps that are frequently used. Fortunately, this isn’t an issue with the LCD screens currently used in iPads.
Note that if you plan to leave your iPad on all day, you must keep it plugged in. If you do this for long periods, this can affect the maximum battery life. This may be okay if you’rerepurposing an old iPad, but these battery issues are worth considering if you’re using your primary iPad on the go.

Enjoy Your Always-On iPad Display
Regardless of what you may be using your iPad for, it’s easy to turn off the Auto-Lock feature in the Settings app. So, if you ever decide you’d like your iPad to automatically sleep again, it’s possible to repeat the same steps and reverse that decision.
If you’re worried about the damage that keeping your iPad on all day may cause to the screen, don’t worry about it. Burn-in isn’t an issue, and while keeping your iPad powered on at all times can affect the battery life, it doesn’t matter if it’s always plugged in.

With so many iPad variants available today, it can be tough to tell which model you currently have. But we’ll help you out with that.
