Summary
Power Book IV: Forcereceived a major update and the announcement has made me even more excited about Tommy and Diamond’s story in season 3. Having survivedPowerseason 6’s ending,Tommy Egan continued his story inPower Book IV: Forceand joined the drug trade in Chicago. His alliance with Diamond allowed the duo to gain more territory and become major players when it came to selling drugs in the city. Despite facing numerous enemies and the FBI, the two have continued to grow their criminal empire heading into season 3, but their story could have a major twist.
Although there are plenty ofstorylinesPower Book IV: Forceseason 3 must include, Tommy and Diamond’s tension is a crucial one. The two have coexisted for the first two seasons, but differences have begun to emerge, making their partnership all the more intriguing. While I enjoy both characters, seeing the drama and tension begin to build throughout season 2 has been fun, and I look forward to seeing it continue. With their story already capturing my attention,Power’s major announcement has only added to the excitement, making me even more hyped for Diamond and Tommy’s season 3 narrative.

Why Power Book IV: Force Killed Off One Of Its Biggest Villains & What It Means For Season 3
Power Book IV: Force killed off one of its main villains in season 2, but it had good reason to do so and it helps set up the story for season 3.
Tommy & Diamond’s Tension Is Even Bigger Now That Force Is Ending
The Duo’s Differences Look Set To Reach Boiling Point In Force Season 3
After the announcement that season 3 will be the final season ofForce, Tommy and Diamond’s tension feels even bigger. With Starz introducing a new spinoff show focusing on Tommy and Ghost’s past beforePowerseason 1,the network also announced thatPower Book: GhostandForcewould be endingwith their upcoming seasons.Ghostis already airing its last installment, butForce’s final outing has no official release date. However, the spinoff does provide plenty of things to look forward to, and the central characters' rift is easily one of its most exciting aspects.
While there is no guarantee that Tommy and Diamond will turn on each other, season 2 planted the seeds that indicate a major confrontation is brewing.

While there is no guarantee that Tommy and Diamond will turn on each other, season 2 planted the seeds that indicate a major confrontation is brewing.Tommy’s hotheaded nature and poor communication frustrated Diamond throughout season 2, and with Jenard trying to cause even more tension, it seems like something is bound to happen. With theconfirmation ofPower Book IV: Forceseason 3being the last chapter for the spinoff, the show can’t afford to put this story on the sidelines, meaning it will have to be addressed when the series returns, and I can’t wait.

Force Season 3 Will Have To Make A Major Decision With Tommy & Diamond’s Story
Force Will Have To Decide Where It’s going With Tommy & Diamond’s Partnership
WithForcecoming to an end, season 3 will have to make a major decision regarding Tommy and Diamond’s relationship. It is unclear exactly how longForcewas originally planning to go on for before its cancelation, but I presume it at least had season 4 in mind. The spinoff has received a positive reception and remains popular, making season 4 a no-brainer had budgets permitted it, but sadly, season 3 will be the end. If the show was initially planned to go on longer, Tommy and Diamond’s growing tension would likely have been built more slowly.
Therefore, season 3 would have likely continued building the division between them which could have potentially set up the show’s future. However, the latest announcement meansForcemust make a big decision on its story. It could quickly drop the idea of splitting the two apart, or it could use this as a bit of a smoke screen.Powerenjoys putting allies against each other, but it also likes a big twist, meaning the two could pretend to have conflict, only for them to reveal they were working together the whole time.

This could also be the perfect way for the show to write out Jenard. He may believe his brother is finally on his side and ready to betray Tommy, only to be backstabbed instead. While their partnership offers plenty of fun possibilities, there is still the chance Tommy and Diamond collide which could create a compelling end to the season, with the two facing off against one another. Tommy may be one ofPower’s best characters, but this wouldn’t be the first time he has feuded with a friend, making the duo’s season 3 storyline completely unpredictable.
Tommy & Diamond’s Feud Could Become Force Season 3’s Biggest Storyline
The Potential Feud Could Eclipse Tommy’s Ongoing War With Miguel
Tommy and Diamond’s potential feud may not have hit boiling point yet, but if it does, it could becomeForceseason 3’s biggest storyline. Miguel and Tommy’s brewing war is easily the most important story heading into season 3, especially since Miguel kidnapped his own sister to antagonize Tommy. However, a feud between Tommy and Diamond would be even bigger considering they are the show’s two central characters. Their influence over Chicago’s drug trade would mean that an internal conflict would have massive ramifications, especially given CBI has already been through a civil war.
If they can’t settle their differences and get on the same page, I can only imagine the sort of devastation a war between them would cause on the streets of Chicago.Forceseason 2 has already highlighted how bloody these gang wars can become, with innocent civilians getting caught in the crossfire. GivenTommy has replaced Ghost asPower’smost ruthless drug dealer, I can only see things getting worse in season 3, and ifTommy and Diamond don’t find a way to coexist, I fear a huge war could be on the cards during the final season.
Power Book III: Raising Kananis the only ongoing spinoff that has not been canceled, with the show being renewed for seasons 4 and 5.
Will Tommy & Diamond Survive Power Book IV: Force?
Force’s Final Season Puts Both Characters At Risk
The confirmation that season 3 will bePower Book IV: Force’s final adds far more jeopardy to the final season, creating questions over who will survive. While I’m hoping both of the show’s protagonists make it out of the finale alive, there is still doubt about their fates. Although I have myworries about Tommy’s death inPower Book IV: Force, he still seems the more likely of the two to survive. After Ghost’s death, he is easily the franchise’s most popular living character, andkilling him off Tommy would really limit options going forward forPower.
Although Tommy will appear inPower Book V: Origins, the show will be a prequel and is unlikely to feature Joseph Sikora, meaning the character could still die inForce’s final season, as unlikely as it may be.
Although Tommy will appear inPower Book V: Origins, the show will be a prequel and is unlikely to feature Joseph Sikora, meaning the character could still die inForce’s final season. I’m far more concerned about Diamond though, as he was first introduced inForceand is unlikely to appear in any future shows. If he ends up going directly against Tommy, it seems inevitable that he will lose the war and could end up dead as a result, especially considering Tommy isn’t the most merciful character and would kill Diamond under the right circumstances.
I’m OK With Power Book II: Ghost & Power Book IV: Force Both Ending, Thanks To This Spinoff I’ve Wanted For Years
While two major Power Book spinoffs are coming to an end, the franchise’s upcoming show is the perfect replacement that I’ve been waiting years for.
Diamond could also die trying to save Tommy. If the two end up settling whatever beef they have and tensions ease, they may work together to take down Miguel and their other enemies. However, this won’t be easy given their large status in the drug trade makes them a big target for several organizations, as well as the FBI. A happy ending for both is possible, butgiven it isPower Book IV: Force’s final season, the show will inevitably want to go out with a bang, and Diamond’s death could provide that.
