Summary

Kitty Forman is one of the best characters inThat ’90s Showso I’m disappointed we didn’t get to see one particular Kitty storyline inThat ’90s Showpart 2. Debra Jo Rupp’s Kitty Forman has been a popular character ever since she first appeared as Eric Forman’s mother inThat ’70s Show. That ’90s Showshows Kitty shining in her role as Leia’s grandmother, but there is still something missing with her newer role.

Kitty is not only a loving wife and grandmother, but she is also an ambitious homemaker who works hard every day to help her family. Her scenes with her husband Red, played by Kurtwood Smith, are definitely some of the most popular scenes inThat ’90s Show, especially as the two of them are some of the fewThat ’70s Showcharacterswho returned as main characters in the sequel. Still, there is one Kitty storyline that I’m surprised did not make the cutforThat ’90s Showseason 2, especially given its prominence inThat ’70s Show.

I Can’t Believe That ’90s Show Season 2 Is Still Ignoring A Huge Member Of Leia Forman’s Family

That ’90s Show Season 2 ignores one huge member of Leia Forman’s family that was present in That ’70s show. The character’s fate remains a mystery.

That ’90s Show Season 2’s Summer Setting Misses Seeing Kitty As The School Nurse

The Summer Setting Is Limiting For Kitty

That ’90s Showseason 1 revealed that Kitty started working again as the school nurse at Point Place High School, butthe show’s summer setting means that we don’t get to see Kitty back at work. That ’70s Showreally emphasized Kitty’s hard-working nature through how she was both a working mom and a homemaker, but that is less noticeable inThat ’90s Show. While we see Kitty’s personality through her interactions with Red and Leia and her friends, there was something about working that added some intrigue to her story inThat ’70s Show.

Kitty working brought in so many interesting plots and jokes inThat ’70s Showthat it would be nice to see the same thing happen inThat ’90s Show.

That 90s Show Season 1 Kitty Forman Teapot Fez Name

That ’90s Show, in comparison, doesn’t show Kitty working. The summer setting of the show, in combination with the school position, means that Kitty gets the summer off.Kitty working brought in so many interesting plots and jokes inThat ’70s Showthat it would be nice to see the same thing happen inThat ’90s Show. There was one scene inThat ’70s Showin particular where Kitty was so stressed out that she asked for a cigarette from the gang in one of the show’s most iconic scenes.

The famous scene where Kitty asks for a cigarette happens in “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” season 1, episode 10 ofThat ’70s Show.

That 90s Show Part 3 Tease Has Me Terrified For The Fate Of These That 70s Show Characters

That ’90s Showmisses out on these memorable scenes by limiting itself to the summer. I would be interested to see Kitty go back to work at her much less stressful job as a school nurse inThat ’90s Showand see the effects this has on her home life and on her. We already know that Kitty’s job gives Red a lot of time to himself since her school nurse position encouragedRed’s model train hobbyin season 2. As a result, including the storyline could potentially benefit both characters.

That ’90s Show Season 2 Teased How Funny It Would Be To See Kitty Working Again

Kitty Working Brings New Comedy

ThroughoutThat ’90s Showseason 2, we see what it is like for Kitty to work at the local high school. Much to Red and Leia’s confusion,Kitty repeatedly uses new slang that she learned during the school year, even repeating the classic ’90s “loser” hand gesture by forming an L with her hand and holding it against her forehead. I can only imagine what these scenes would be like if we could see Kitty use the slang the moment she learns it or if we could see her use the slang incorrectly in front of Leia’s friends.

Kitty spends her whole days surrounded by teenagers at her new job, so it’s only natural that she would pick up on a few new words here and there. That ’90s Showhas already shown small scenes that teased what it would be like to see Kitty working again. The only difference betweenThat ’90s ShowandThat ’70s Showis that it would be nice to see Kitty working at a less stressful job which would give her the added interest but without the stress she carried inThat ’70s Show.

That ’90s Show Part 3 Tease Has Me Terrified For The Fate Of These That ’70s Show Characters

A That ’90s Show star has teased an emotional cliffhanger for Part 3, and based on the events of Part 2, this may involve these legacy characters.

How That ’90s Show Could Still Show Kitty’s Most Interesting Storyline

Changing The Setting Is The Best Answer

That ’90s Showcould still show Kitty working if future seasons are set during other times of the year. Seasons 1 and 2 ofThat ’90s Showhave already confirmed that Leia has visited Point Place during Christmas and spring break before, so the show could shift its timeline a bit to feature aThat ’90s Showholiday specialthat includes scenes of Kitty working. This way, the shift in the setting could explore Kitty’s most interesting storyline. Hopefully, part 3 will feature a special episode that shows Kitty on the job.

Kitty is such an interesting and lovable character, and expanding her storyline by showing her at work would be an exciting addition to the show.A lot of her life is tied to her connection with her family, so showing scenes of her working helps her individuality shine. When Kitty got the job in season 1, I was sure we would see scenes of her working in the next season. I know I would be really interested in seeing this happen in part 3 ofThat ’90s Show, and it’s a missed opportunity that it hasn’t been explored yet.
