As someone who uses an Android phone alongside an iPhone, I’ve missed iOS’s scroll-to-top gesture on Android for the longest time. But this changed when I stumbled upon the Action Notch app, which allowed me to add the same functionality on my Android phone.

Using Action Notch to Add iPhone’s Scroll-to-Top Gesture on Your Android Phone

Action Notch is a simple app that transforms the camera-hole cutout on your Android phone into a virtual button. This button can then be customized with multiple gestures and assigned a range of actions.

For the purpose of this article, I’ll walk you through how I set up the scroll-to-top gesture using Action Notch. To get started, firstdownload Action Notchfrom the Google Play Store.

Once set up, you can quickly scroll to the top of any page on your Android phone by simply tapping the phone’s camera notch.

Action Notch Isn’t Limited to Just One Action

Aside from offering iOS’s scroll-to-top functionality, there’s a lot more you’re able to do with Action Notch.

For instance, if you find the screenshot combination uncomfortable, you can assign one of the gestures to take a screenshot. Similarly, if you have a broken power button, you can set up a gesture to turn off the screen or show the power-off menu.

You can also use Action Notch to trigger various automation tasks you’ve set up in apps likeMacroDroidandTasker—or Routines, if you use a Galaxy phone. Or, perhaps you want to set up easy access to your quick dials and launch apps. While most of the options are free, some will require upgrading to Action Notch’s Pro subscription in order to unlock them.

I’ve used Action Notch to set up several different actions on my Android phone. However, the other one that I find unique and especially useful is Scroll to Bottom. I’ve personally set it up on the Double Touch gesture, and it saves me the trouble of scrolling by taking me to the bottom of a page immediately anytime I perform a double-tap on the camera notch.

Action Notch Settings You Should Enable

One of the things I like about Action Notch is that it lets you customize certain aspects to suit your needs. You can access the app’s settings by tapping the double-slider icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Here are a few settings you should consider enabling:

Adding the scroll-to-top and scroll-to-bottom functionality to your Android phone can make navigating long pages much easier. And don’t forget, your Android phone may have a secret buttonyou can enable to expand your device’s functionality further; no third-party apps are needed.
