In 2024, the story ofClone Force 99inStar Wars: The Bad Batchofficially came to an end, but I think I’ve found a new way for the next chapter of their story to continue on in the future ofStar Wars. After being introduced in the first four episodes ofStar Wars: The Clone Warsseason 7, the Bad Batch quickly became a fan-favorite group of clone troopers, especially as their story expanded inThe Bad Batch. Hunter, Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair, and Echo remain popular characters well after their series' conclusion, as does one other: Omega.
One ofStar Wars’best charactersin recent years, Omega was an early addition to the Bad Batch in the animated TV show’s premiere. Although some audiences were initially divided when it came to her, she has since undergone incredible growth that has earned her a true place at her brothers' sides - and in everyone’s hearts. This was proven by the wayOmega’s story ended inThe Bad Batchepilogue, where she says goodbye to Hunter before leaving Pabu to join theRebel Alliance. She is carrying on an incredible legacy, and can certainly continue doing so.

She Already Carries Pieces Of Clone Force 99 With Her
Omega, as the only remaining active member of the Bad Batch due to her brothers' retirement, is more than capable of carrying on the story of the Bad Batch. Though this continuation of Clone Force 99’s story wouldn’t feature its original members as heavily asThe Bad Batchdoes, there’s no doubt that, given Hunter’s parting words to Omega, they could and would still be a part of Omega’s new chapter. She’s already shown that she intends to carry on their legacy in the way she’s dressed, from the skull on her jacket to the red bandana in her hair.
Omega’s Full Backstory, Force Connection, & Star Wars Future Explained
First introduced in The Bad Batch, Omega has taken an incredible journey. Here’s everything you need to know about her and her Star Wars connections.
There are more than just physical signs of Omega carrying on the Bad Batch’s story, though. On board the ship we glimpsed inThe Bad Batch’s epilogue, Omega does carry physical pieces of her brothers, most notably Tech’s goggles, butthe whole reason why she has a ship that she can fly anyway is because of the way she was taught by them- Tech specifically. The leadership skills she acquired from Hunter were on full display when she led the kids inside Tantiss to safety, and she certainly shares Wrecker’s strength, Crosshair’s loyalty, and Echo’s virtue.

Star Wars Has Never Done An Animated Show During The Original Trilogy
The Closest They’ve Come Is With Star Wars Rebels
It’s important to note that if Omega does carry on the Bad Batch’s story from the epilogue onward, thenStar Warswill be entering new territory with an animated show. Aside fromStar Wars Rebels, which led directly up to the originalStar Warstrilogy era, no other animated series has actually taken place during those movies. With Omega now joining the Rebellion, and no doubt becoming a crucial part of it thanks to her years of experience and training from her brothers,it’s likely that Omega’s chapter of the story would take place during the original trilogy.
She would prove to be a true threat against the Empire, something she had already shown as a child.

This offersStar Warsthe perfect opportunity to finally tell an animated story within this era, and to keep it focused on someone audiences already love without oversaturating the story of the Skywalkers. If necessary, parts of the story could see members of the aged Bad Batch assisting Omega at times, bringing the beloved group back together. To see these key Clone Wars-era characters in action during the Galactic Civil War would be thrilling, especially if it was through Omega’s eyes. She would prove to be a true threat against the Empire, something she had already shown as a child.
It’s Just Like Her To Name It After Her Brothers
To further connect Omega’s story to that of the Bad Batch, she could even be the leader of her own Rebel cell, appropriately named after her brothers.Omega has already proven that she loves to use this name whenever she can; inThe Bad Batchseason 1, she models her “Trooper” plush after the members of the Batch, and in season 3, she names the lurca hound she’s befriended “Batcher.” It’s reasonable to think, then, that Omega would indeed name a Rebel cell of her own after them, too, thus keeping the Batch’s legacy alive.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch - Clone Force 99’s Complete Timeline Explained, From Order 66 To The Rebel Alliance
Clone Force 99, also known as the Bad Batch, played a pivotal role in both the Clone Wars and the Empire’s earliest days. This is their full timeline.
Omega would make for a fantastic leader of a Rebel cell, and she has already proved as much by the way she led her own “Bad Batch” of fellow child prisoners on Tantiss. That storyline would be the perfect setup for Omega to truly lead a group of fellow rebels against the Empire, especially with her old friend Hera Syndulla doing the same with her Spectre cell. Given how muchStar Warsdoes truly value the Bad Batch, it’s not impossible to think that Omega could continue the story ofThe Bad Batchin her very own way.
