Interview With The Vampire Season 2 Is Teasing A Major Crossover That Would Change The Show

Interview with the Vampire season 2 is teasing a major crossover event in its latest episodes, one that would drastically change the show.

Their Influence Drove Daniel’s Later Interview Sessions

The biggest tease for the future of the Immortal Universe came inInterview with the Vampireseason 2, episode 3, whenDaniel is given documents related to Louis by Talamasca agent Raglan James. The Talamasca is a secretive organization that monitors the supernatural, with many of its agents harboring supernatural abilities themselves. They first appeared in theMayfair WitchesTV show, with their debut in the vampire series helping to strengthen the connection between the two shows.

Raglan’s documents coupled with his insistence on how Daniel should conduct the back half of the interview lead to many revelations about Armand. Not only did he wipe the reporter and Louis' memories of San Francisco in 1973, but he also took credit for Lestat saving Louis. It’s unclear how much of this made it into Daniel’s final publication, though:The Talamasca ended up helping him get his in-universe novelInterview with the Vampirepublished, with multiple parts omitted and changed. But their involvement with the book sets up bigger things than season 3 of the pre-established series.

The Immortal Universe Is Starting To Expand

In June 2023,AMC greenlit a new Immortal Universe series under theworking titleThe Talamasca.Slated for a late 2025 release, the new show is expected to follow the organization that currently tiesInterview with the VampireandMayfair Witchesinto the same fictional world. While it’s unclear what the premise is going to be as of writing, it’s possible the series will be directly influenced from events in the existing two shows. This includes the publication of Daniel’s book and the subsequent fallout within the vampire community.

The Talamascaseriescould explain why the organization allowed Daniel’s book to be published in the first place, including why certain omissions were made from Louis' original story. It can use the novel as a jumping-off point, establishing what the organization’s true goals are and why they’re willing to reveal the supernatural to the world without much fanfare. The show could also include some familiar faces from around the Immortal Universe, further cementing the show as an important fixture of the growing franchise.

The Organization Is An Important Connective Piece

Alongside explaining the agency’s role,The Talamascacould become a lead-in for a crossover betweenInterview with the VampireandMayfair Witches.Given the organization now has an important part to play in both shows, it would make sense for the spinoff to provide connective tissue acknowledging the events of the other two series. WithMayfair Witchesseason 2likely airing before the new series, it seems like the perfect opportunity to strengthen the Immortal Universe’s closeness by leading into the upcoming show. Or perhaps making direct acknowledgment ofInterview with the Vampiretoo.

Anne Rice has written three books that include crossovers betweenInterview with the VampireandMayfair Witches.

Interview with the Vampire TV Poster

With the Talamasca having interfered with Daniel’s book while also influencing parts ofInterview with the Vampireseason 2’s story, it seems like their upcoming spinoff will provide more connections within the Immortal Universe. While the main story of the new show might not directly coincide with either existing series, Easter eggs and nods to prior events could help expand the franchise. The Talamascais now an exciting addition, something that could make nods to either series while also setting the stage for a bigger universe as the series' continue.
