Lost Soul Aside, an upcomingPlayStation 5game, was one of the stand-out trailers during the February State of Play. Its first flashy trailer and exciting gameplay captivated fans from the get-go, showcasing a unique and ambitious vision that feels reminiscent ofStellar Bladeand similar action titles. It’s been generating a lot of buzz, with fans eager to learn when it comes out, what type of gameplay they can expect, and what the story will entail.

It’s Coming To PS5 & PC

Lost Soul Asideis releasing on Friday, July 27, 2025, which is roughly three and a half months after its trailer during the February State of Play. That means that players won’t have to wait long before they can get their hands on it and play it for themselves.Lost Soul Asidehas been in development for over 10 years, with it initially being created by just one person, Yang Bing. Since then, it has expanded dramatically, in large part thanks to the partnership between the developer and PlayStation, making it one of themost-anticipated PS5 gamesof 2025.

Lost Soul Asidewill be available for PC and PS5 on launch day, which is great for those who haven’t picked up a PS5 yet.PlayStation is porting to PCmore than ever before, with a lot of its first-party offerings making their way to platforms like Steam. It is great to see its excellent games become accessible to a wider pool of players, especially since itrectified its PSN PC woes. Lost Soul Aside coming to PC on day one is a great step in Sony’s efforts to bring more of its games to PC sooner rather than later.

Black Myth: Wukong fans have a lot to look forward to across the next few years, especially one of PlayStation’s most-anticipated exclusives.

Players can pre-orderLost Soul Asideright nowvia the PS5 digital storefront, or Steam on PC. There are two editions, the Standard Digital Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition, but no physical edition, at least so far. Players who pre-orderLost Souls Aside- which will cost $59.99 for the Standard Edition and $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition - will receive an outfit based on the protagonist’s initial appearance from the first reveal trailer, some in-game currency, and healing potions. Of course, those who get the Deluxe Edition will receive its various bonuses as well.

It’s An Adventure RPG

Lost Soul Asidesees players exploring linear environments as the game’s protagonist, Kaser, using a variety of traversal methods, including a surf-board-esque device and even wings. Aided by his dragon-like companion, Arena, Kaser can venture off the beaten path to discover hidden secrets, or tackle the game’s many challenging combat encounters with his variety of skills and shape-shifting main weapon. Kaser’s weapon is extremely versatile, capable of being used as a basic sword, to shoot out long-ranged attacks, let him dart around a combat arena, and so much more.

Lost Souls Aside’strailershowcased mostly story details, but there’s a lot of the game’s stunning and unique environments thrown in there, as well as some of the spectacular boss fights. These are the main focus of the game, with each one being its own set piece, including one against a giant dragon. Each boss fight will require the player to adapt and think of new strategies, and utilize the available combos alongside Arena’s various abilities.Lost Soul Asideis very much an action RPGwith a huge focus on stylish animations and effects.

There are customizable loadouts, unlockable skills, combos to learn, and various enemy typesto encounter. It looks like a mix ofDevil May Cry,Nier Automata, andStellar Blade, with a pinch ofFinal Fantasy’svisual style. For those who want a combat-focused RPG,Lost Souls Asideseems to fit that bill perfectly. It all looks incredibly impressive, especially considering it was largely developed by one person.

It’s A Story Of Saving Humankind

When it comes toLost Soul Aside’sstory, there aren’t a lot of details. According to the game’sPlayStation Blogpost - written by Yang Bing himself -Lost Soul Asidefollows the journey of Kaser as he attempts to rescue his sister and prevent humankind from being destroyed by otherworldly forces. He also has to deal with Arena, the dragon-like demon that’s following him around and talking to him, and the power that they share. According to Bing, Lost Soul Aside is about “redemption and discovery” with plenty of “high-stakes conflicts”, “memorable moments”, and, most importantly, lots of “gasp-worthy” scenes.

Lost Soul Asidetakes place in a fantasy sci-fi universe with a lot of unique environments to explore. From ruined temples to sprawling otherworldly environments, it looks like there’s a lot of variety when it comes to the types of places Kaser will have to explore. Players will also meet a variety of characters, many of which have been shown off in the game’s trailers, including its central villain whom Kaser will go toe-to-toe with.RPG fans can definitely expect a lot of stylish cutscenes and heightened dramaas they play throughLost Soul Aside.

Sony Allegedly Delisting “Spam” PS5 Games Following The Nearly 24-Hour PlayStation Network Outage

Sony has allegedly removed several “spam” and “shovelware” games from the PS5 storefront following a 24-hour outage to the PlayStation Network.

Developer Ultizero Games is yet to confirm just how long a playthrough ofLost Soul Asidewill take, but it’ll likely last players a good few hours, especially considering just how much it is attempting to put into its passion project. In many ways, it feels reminiscent of theuniqueClair Obscur: Expedition 33, which is similarly a unique take on the JRPG genre from a team of incredibly passionate developers. Regardless, players will be able to see for themselves ifLost Soul Asideends up being one of thePlayStation 5’sbest games when it launches in May.
