Warning! SPOILERS about Mayor of Kingstown season 3, episode 8 ahead.
Summary
The perpetrators of various attacks inMayor of Kingstownseason 3 weren’t known without a shadow of a doubt, and the bus tragedy that killed Konstantin’s girls was one of them, with only a subtle hint pointing to one criminal in particular. UnlikeMayor of Kingstownseasons 1 and 2, where gangs claimed responsibility for some attacks and when they didn’t it was clear to Mike or KPD who was behind them, the perpetrators ofMayor of Kingstownseason 3’s attacks were much less definite. This brought forth a peculiar kind of chaos that made everyone have doubts about anyone.
Thebus tragedy wasMayor of Kingstownseason 3’s most impactful attack until season 3, episode 7, causing upheaval because of its victims’ innocence and how it was meticulously planned and executed, condemning them to a horrible fate solely to hurt their exploiter. While its perpetrator was unclear and undiscovered by either Mike or KPD, the attack’s target was evident, as it hurt Konstantin’s operation, making some gangs more likely to be thought to be behind it despite the attack not matching their MO.Mayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 8 didn’t explicitly reveal the perpetrator, only hinting at him.

Callahan’s Words Before Grenades Got To Him Hint AB Is Behind Mayor Of Kingstown’s Bus Tragedy
Callahan’s Sentence Is An Hint
Right before the attack that shook the prison inMayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 8, Callahan recapped everything that was coming the Aryan Brotherhood’s way, mentioning someone that began producing drugs for them and how Mike would have pushed back against the Crips. However,Callahan also mentioned how “the Russian’s time” was ticking away, subtly hinting at the fact that he knew how much the bus tragedy hurt Konstantin. Callahan’s admission all but confirms his involvement in the planning of the accident, as he wouldn’t have considered Konstantin done for if he had only heard about it like Bunny.
Nobody Knowing The Truth About The Attack Only Makes Things More Difficult In Kingstown
The Gangs Are More Willing To Go To War
Mayor of Kingstownseason 3’s pattern of attacks not being clearly attributable to specific gangs began with the massive explosions at KPD’s car park in season 3, episode 3, which couldn’t be connected to the Aryan Brotherhood’s higher-ups. Similarly, the bus tragedy Mike insisted should be considered an accident in season 3, episode 7 couldn’t be connected with certainty to any gang, with Mike and KPD having opposite criminals in mind. Even if Mike guessed right who could have been behind the grenade attack in season 3, episode 8, everyone else fumbling in the dark irreparably diminished Kingstown’s feeble balance.
One Subtle Mayor Of Kingstown Detail Proves Callahan Is Season 3’s Most Dangerous Player
Callahan’s plans and decisions already showed his true power, but 1 detail in Mayor of Kingstown season 3, episode 6 revealed how dangerous he is.
Ever since the first attack inMayor of Kingstownseason 3,Mike privileged peace in Kingstown over the truth, covering for whoever was more likely to start a war had they known the truthbehind an attack. This was true for Bunny’s hit on Robert, but also the grenade attack in season 3, episode 8, where Mike convinced Callahan of Konstantin masterminding the plan to kill him despite highly suspecting Bunny of the same. Mike’s gamble worked because Konstantin killing one AB thug substantiated his story to Callahan, but that was just luck, and any more uncertainty risks dooming Kingstown.

The unclear culprits behind the attacks on KPD, Konstantin and Callahan foster a climate of uncertainty in Kingstown.
Indeed, all the attacks not clearly attributable to any gang make everything more difficult for all in Kingstown. This was evident in the chaos KPD found itself in after the car park bombingsand how they locked down Kingstown as a result, but also in Bunny’s distressed response after realizing that plenty of his drugs had been contaminatedbefore learning about Konstantin and Callahan’s plan. Were the uncertainty to increase in season 3’s last two episodes, it could kickstart the infamous gang warMayor of Kingstownhas been foreshadowing ever since season 1.
