Summary

Warning: Spoilers for Blood Hunters #1!Miles Moralesmay have just solidified himself as the most powerfulSpider-Manin Marvel Comics. While some additional abilities would suggest that Miles is unquestionably stronger than Peter Parker, most Marvel stories position Peter and Miles as being on equal terms, sharing more or less the same power level. However, there has been a slight implication thatMiles has been holding backhis true power.

His latest affliction with vampirismcould finally solidify Miles Morales as the most powerful Spider-Man, as teased inBlood Hunters(vol. 2) #1 by Erica Schultz, Robert Gill, Rain Beredo, and VC’s Joe Caramagna. Immortal vampire hunter Elsa Bloodstone seems to confirm this to be true, as she utters that such a power upgrade for a Spider-Man is"a bit too much power, innit?"

Elsa Bloodstone has to be held back from killing Miles Morales Spider-Man because he is a vampire in Blood Hunters #1

Miles Morales' power upgrade could be over by the next issue if Dagger is able to help him, but while he has it, the upgrade highlights how underrated the power of vampires in Marvel could truly be.

Miles Morales Being a Vampire Makes Him the Strongest Spider-Man

Here’s Why (and How) He Became a Vampire

Spider-Man’s curse is a fairly new one that he has gained as a result of this past summer’sBlood Huntstory arc. While being possessed by history’s (andpop culture’s) oldest vampire, Varnae, Blade encounters the younger Spidey inMiles Morales: Spider-Man#21 by Cody Ziglar and Travel Foreman. One bite to the neck changes Miles' life forever, or at least for the foreseeable future until the curse can be reversed. He still has plenty to show off,but Miles now carries the strength of a vampire on top of classic Spidey powers, plus his Venom abilities.

Marvel Confirms 1 Hero Is Miles Morales' Perfect MCU Mentor (& It’s Not Peter Parker)

For all of the good that Peter Parker has done as a mentor to Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s best mentor has unexpectedly turned out to be [SPOILER].

On his own accord, Spider-Man already ranks among the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe, regardless of who is under the mask. Super strength and enhanced senses alone make him a formidable adversary. Moves like his Venom Blast and his Venom Sword are just an added bonus for Miles, but the powers that come with being a vampire (i.e. additional super strength, enhanced stamina, etc.) are the true upgrade. This is why Elsa Bloodstone is so adamant about wanting to kill him. She knows how powerful Spider-Man is, but Spider-Man with vampire powers? Way too much power, innit?

Vampires May Be Underestimated in Marvel’s Universe

It’s Time to Reevaluate Their Power Level

No one is questioning how powerful vampires are in the Marvel Universe, butis there a chance that they are more powerful than even Marvel readers previously imagined?Take Dracula, for example. Powerful vampire, yes, but few would rank him to be as powerful as some of Marvel’s strongest heroes and villains. Maybe that should change, especially considering that an even older vampire in Varnae almost brought Earth-616 to its knees this summer. If a vampire’s power boost is enough to make an already powerfulSpider-ManlikeMiles Moralesbecome practically unbeatable, then vampires should be ranked higher on the Marvel power scale.

Blood Hunters#1is on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man is the name given to several individuals who have employed a spider-moniker throughout Marvel Comics. Typically gaining their powers through a bite from a radioactive spider, the different Spider-Man heroes employ super-strength, agility, and intellect while utilizing webbing to swing and tangle up their foes. The most notable of these Spider-Men is Peter Parker, who remains one of the most popular superheroes throughout the world.
