Developers and Fans Are Anxious For More Information

Nintendo has understandably been tight-lipped about its plans for the Switch 2, consistently responding to media inquiries and questions about the console by telling people to tune into the Direct on April 2 andto keep an eye on the new Nintendo Today app.The company’s desire for secrecy even extends to developers, with manysaying they have no idea about the Switch 2’s capabilitiesor specifications. As such, no games specifically for the Switch 2 have been formally announced, though the company did share some upcoming releases for the original Switch console during its March 27 Direct.

With leaks about the console’s capabilities pretty sparce, fans and developers alike are clamoring for information about the Switch 2, which puts Nintendo in a fantastic position for the upcoming Treehouse Live presentations. Which Switch 2 Games Could We Expect To See?

Speculation On New Releases Is Plentiful

The lack of forthcoming information from Nintendo has led fans to speculate on what could be coming next. The only guarantee players have is thata newMario Kartgame is coming, and it would make sense that Nintendo would showcase what is likely to be a blockbuster release. The highly anticipatedPokémon Legends: Z-AandMetroid Prime 4: Beyondwere highlighted during last week’s Direct about Switch 1 games, and manypredict that both titles will receive Switch 2 versions, soit would be logical to highlight these releases as well with live gameplay demonstrations.

Players also remain hopeful about announcements for longstanding Nintendo franchises likeThe Legend of ZeldaandAnimal Crossing, or perhaps a new 3DSuper Mariogame, but those seem more like stretches.Regardless of what gameplay we get to see, it will be the careful result of planning from Nintendo, and hopefully players will learn more from the Treehouse team about how games like the newMario Kartwill function. There’s no doubt that whatever Nintendo showcases will be special, and fans only need to wait a little while longer to see what’s coming for theNintendo Switch 2.
