Obi-Wan Kenobiactor James Arnold Taylor continues to express interest in bringing Obi-Wan’s love interest, Satine Kryze, back to theStar Warsscreen years afterStar Wars: The Clone Warsconcluded. Obi-Wan Kenobi having a secret love interest was easily one of the most shocking reveals inThe Clone Wars, and while some may have bristled at this turn, Satine and Obi-Wan ultimately became one ofStar Wars’best relationships. Yet, sinceThe Clone Wars, Satine hasn’t been seen (or even really mentioned).
Clearly,The Clone Wars’Obi-Wan Kenobi voice actor James Arnold Taylor has taken note of that absence and wants it to change as well. In an exclusive interview withScreen Rant, Taylor shared:

ScreenRant: Are there any other Obi-Wan stories that you’ve never gotten a chance to tell that you’ve always still wanted to?
James Arnold Taylor: I’m pretty vocal about it, and I’m waiting for Lucasfilm to go, “James, stop.” But I would really love for them to tell a story in animated form of Duchess Satine and Obi-Wan when they were younger and how they met, because we’ve talked about it throughout Clone Wars.

Anna Graves and I are very talented voice actors, so we could pull that off! [Laughs] I could be a younger Obi-Wan Kenobi, and she could be a younger Satine. I would love to see that story - selfishly, yes, but also because I think the fans would love it too. There’s a beautiful, wonderful group of fans that I see at every ComicCon. They dress up as ObaTine - that’s what they call Satine and Obi-Wan together, and I love that story.
I also love the story of Ahsoka and Plo Koon. He discovered Ahsoka, and we only got a hint of it in one Tales of the Jedi, so I would love to see more of that story and how he helped raise her up at the Jedi Temple.

We couldn’t agree more with Taylor—Satine Kryze is a brilliantStar Warscharacter, and her romance with Obi-Wan is fascinating, yet she’s been noticeably absent inStar Warsmovies and TV showsoutsideThe Clone Wars.
I Can’t Believe We Still Haven’t Seen Satine’s Story
Satine’s Absence Has Been Glaring
It’s been a bit surprising that Satine hasn’t been more prominent inStar WarssinceThe Clone Wars. Yes, she died in that show, but at multiple points, references to Satine would have made sense and been a bit of validation for fans ofThe Clone Warswho adored this new character. In fact,in addition to being Obi-Wan’s love interest, Satine was the Duchess of Mandalore and the sister of Bo-Katan Kryze. That makes her rather important totheStar Warstimeline.
It’s been odd that shows likeObi-Wan KenobiandThe Mandalorianhaven’t made reference to Satine for that reason. Arguably, it’s even more bizarre that Bo-Katan hasn’t reflected on the loss of her sister than it is Obi-Wan didn’t make mention of her inObi-Wan Kenobi. Hopefully, upcoming projects involving Bo-Katan, presumablyThe Mandalorian and Groguin particular, will finally acknowledge Satine’s importance. However,I completely agree with Taylor that we deserve an on-screen exploration of Satine and Obi-Wan’s romance.

There’s one piece of Legends lore that may confirm one of the biggest, longest-running Obi-Wan Kenobi theories, and it makes perfect sense.
Our Take On The Satine Romance
This Was A Surprising (But Brilliant) Update For Obi-Wan
For some, this romance was out of left field and even disappointing, as they felt it wasn’t realistic for Obi-Wan to have a love interest. That was in part because of Obi-Wan’s obvious opposition to Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala’s romance, but it was primarily due to Obi-Wan’s dedication to the Jedi way and strict adherence to the rules. This is precisely what makes this love interest work, though.
Even with this romantic interest, Obi-Wan remained dedicated to the Jedi and was the opposite of Anakin. Obi-Wan told Satine that he would have left the Order for her, meaning he never would have done what Anakin did. Yes, he loved Satine, but he was loyal enough to the Jedi that he understood it was an either-or situation. This storyline also fleshed out Obi-Wan’s character in brand-new, fascinating ways. Just likeObi-Wan Kenobiactor James Arnold Taylor, I genuinely hopeStar Warsrevisits this story arc, especially since Satine hasn’t been seen sinceStar Wars: The Clone Wars.
