Summary

Patrick J. Adams is confirmed to be a part of the second season of a new crime show, and now the news has me wishing for his return in theSuits: LAspinoff. Even though the actor won’t be returning to his infamous role, it will be wonderful to see Adams back in the court of law, regardless of which character he is playing this time. The part is entirely different from his beloved character, and it only makes me want to seeMike Ross’Suitsreturneven more.

Suits: LAis the confirmed spinoff series, which follows the upbringing of a Los Angeles law firm. There is confirmation that Stephen Amell will star in the new series, but no word about old characters from the main series coming backas regulars or even guest roles. With Adams joining a different crime show, it will be interesting to see ifSuitsseason 9’s endingwas the last time we see him battling legality or if he will ever come back to reprise hisSuitsrole.

Suits’ 20 Best Characters, Ranked

Suits is one of those shows that brilliantly develops a wide variety of characters to give them all unique and entertaining stories worth watching.

Adams Will Be On The Other Side Of The Law

Accusedseason 2 has cast Patrick J. Adams, an actor who is no stranger to roles involving legality and crime.Adams previously starred inSuitsas Mike Ross, a college dropout with a photographic memory whose drug run turns into getting a job offer with Harvey Spector, one of the best lawyers in New York City. His outstanding performance in the legal drama got him a nomination in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series at the 18th Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Patrick J. Adams joiningAccusedwill undoubtedly remind me how good the actor is in legal dramas, and it’ll be interesting to see him play both sides of the legality coin.InSuits, Mike was a lawyer taking down those who break the law, whereas Adams’ role inAccusedis the opposite; he’s the one needing the defense. It’ll be nice to see the actor back in the courtroom, even if it isn’t in the way I’m used to seeing him, but Adams’ role will augment nostalgia for the long-running series and prove that he can play both sides of the law.

Why Patrick J. Adams' Mike Left Suits After Season 7

Patrick J. Adams played Mike Ross in USA Network’s Suits for seven seasons. Unfortunately, the character left the show after the season 7 finale.

Mike Ross Would Be Great For Suits' New Spinoff (But Not In A Main Role)

A Guest Role Makes Much More Sense

Mike Ross was a fan-favorite character inSuitsfor his wit and charisma, as well as his ability to match the magnetic Harvey Spector’s energy. With the newSuits: LAspinoff confirmed, I, as much as anyone else, would love to see Mike back on the show, even if it isn’t as prominent as his leading role in the original series. Despite how nice it would be to have him back full-time,Mike would be great forSuits’ new spinoff, but not in the main role.

Adams’ character was the leading part of the series and delivered in a memorable way, but Mike shouldn’t be the center of attention in the Suits spinoff. Instead, he should be a guest or a figure that appears sporadically to keep things in check or assist in the best possible way. Mike could connect new characters and old characters, andhaving Adams reprise hisSuitsrole could open the door for other former actors to reemerge, rather than have a full-blownSuitsreunionthat could feel forced.

Could Patrick J. Adams Return In The Suits' Spinoff?

There’s Still Hope His Mike Ross Coming Back

TheSuits: LAshow features a whole new cast and characters, as well as a different storyline that could spill into the main series’ timeline, but it will mostly stand entirely on its own. It also takes place in a different location, focusing on building a law firm in Los Angeles. As of now, Adams hasn’t released any sort of information that hints at his Mike Ross reprisal, which pains me to say, but all hope isn’t lost just yet.

Suitsand its spinoff series obviously exist in the same world at the same time, sothe possibility of Adams coming back as Mike Ross isn’t an entirely extinct concept. His return could happen, even if it isn’t confirmed yet, but if Mike makes a guest appearance onSuits: LA, it would be great to have that be a surprise without any confirmation made public before his big return to the franchise.
