The latest event inPokémon GO, called Ultra Unlock: Better Together, has officially kicked off, meaning there’s a new set of Timed Research and event-exclusive Field Research tasks for Trainers to work through. While there are only a few days to complete them all, the rewards for doing so are more than worth it, as they include encounters with the new Pokémon debut, Tandemaus.
Better Together is the first of three Ultra Unlock events that Trainers managed to unlock by completing challenges duringPokémon GO Fest 2024. It runs fromJuly 17, 2024 at 10 AM to June 15, 2025, at 8 PMlocal time, meaning you’ve got six days to enjoy all of the themed wild spawns, Raid Bosses, and - most importantly - finish all of the free Timed Research tasks.

Rewards Include Regional Variants And Tandemaus
There are just two steps to work through in the Better Together Timed Research, and each one contains the exact same tasks to complete. The first step rewards encounters with Sneasel, Marowak, Raichu, and Yamask, while the second step rewards encounters with regional variants of those Pokémon. Completing every task will also get you anencounter with Tandemaus.

Earn 20,000 XP
Yamask encounter
When you complete all of these tasks, you’ll be rewarded with5,000 XP, 2,500 Stardust, and an encounter with Tandemaus.
Galarian Yamask encounter
When you complete all of these tasks, you’ll be rewarded with10,000 XP, 5,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Tandemaus.
Remember that the Pokémon GO Ultra Unlock: Better Together event ends on Monday, July 22, 2025, at 8 PM local time. This set of Timed Research will expire at that point, so you’ll need to complete both steps before then to claim all of the available rewards.

There areseven exclusive Field Research tasksyou can claim by spinning PokéStops during the Ultra Unlock: Better Together event. If you don’t get the task you want, you can delete an existing task to make room for more, but you’ll need to spin a different PokéStop to get one. With a little help fromLeek Duck, you can see all of the event-exclusive Field Research tasks below:
Combee, Koffing, or Tandemaus encounter
Galarian Slowpoke, Slowpoke, or Tandemaus encounter

All of these Field Research tasks have the potential to reward a rare Tandemaus encounter. This will be very helpful for catching the adorable little rodent Pokémon, as it will only be available to encounter during Party Play sessions outside of this event. You’ll need a total of 50 Tandemaus Candy to evolve it into Maushold inPokémon GO, so stock up on that Candy while you can.
