Actor Russell Crowe is returning to the epic world of ancient Rome in the upcoming film,The Last Druid.The film will follow a peaceful Celtic elder (Crowe), who is faced with protecting his family and people from perishing when a merciless Roman Emperor discovers his secluded stronghold in the mountains of Caledonia. This project marksCrowe’s return to Rome for the first time in almost 25 yearssince his acclaimed role asMaximus fromGladiator.
According toDeadline,Crowe has signed on to the Roman project, and additional casting is still underway. The film will be directed by Will Eubank, known for his previous projects such asUnderwaterandLand of Bad.Producing the film are Ben Pugh from 42, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger from Range Media Partners, along with Adrían Guerra from Nostromo. Executive producers include Brandon Millan, Sam Wasson, and George Hsieh.
