In a new interview withTechRadar, the Russo Brothers were asked about the direction ofAvengers: Secret Warswhile they are getting ready forAvengers: Doomsday. When they were asked about how much of theSecret Warscomic books the MCU is looking to adapt, Joe Russo gave the following response:
Well,we always create our own version of the story. So, we use the comics as loose inspiration. But, you know, I grew up on the original run. That’s something that got me into Marvel comic books.The Hickman run is also fantastic [and they’re] very different from each other in a lot of ways,so we’ll draw inspiration from both of them.

When it comes to using major Marvel Comics titles for the MCU,Marvel Studios has traditionally always done their own spin on some of the most famous storylines.
