Sister Wivesstar Paedon Brown has always had a unique relationship with his father’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and he has been publicly open about it. 25-year-old Paedon Brown is the son of polygamist patriarch Kody Brown and his third wife, Christine Brown. Paedon was only 11 years old when Robyn married his father and joined the family along with her three children from a previous marriage. Kody’s Children Felt Neglected
One of the reasons Paedon and Robyn had a troubled relationship is due to Paedon’s relationship with Robyn’s children. Robyn was a divorced single mother of three when she joinedthe cast ofSister Wivesseason 1, and she and Kody eventually had two children of their own, bringing the total to five children.Adding five children to any family would be a huge change to any family, especially when that family already had 13 children.
In a 2022 interview, Paedon confessed toThe Sunthat he had been “rude” to Robyn’s kids growing up because he watched his father “doing things with them that he didn’t do with me.” This jealousy wasn’t unique to Paedon, asseveral of Kody’s older children felt a lot of resentment towards their father for what they perceived as neglect. In the clip, Gwendlyn shares herconcerns about her father and Robyn’s financial choices. While answering a fan’s question, Gwendlyn said,
“I think that my dad and Robyn have a terrible habit of spending very crazy and, like, not within their means at all.”
Not only did Gwendlyn claim thatKody and Robyn are overspending, but she also went on to say that Christine, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown would be better off without her father. She even said that Kody’s other wives“totally deserve”the money he has spent with Robyn. Though Paedon hasn’t spoken publicly about Kody and Robyn’s finances,there’s little doubt that he has strong feelings about the matter that has colored his dynamicwith his fourth mother.

As Christine’s devoted son, it’s understandable thatPaedon takes Christine’s sidein the conflict between Christine and Robyn. Christine has a lot of positive character traits, but chief among them is her maternal side. When the Brown family was growing, Kody and her sister wives, Meri and Janelle, were often working, so it was Christine who was tasked with the lion’s share of child care.
Most of the Brown children grew up seeing Christine as a warm, loving mother figure, especially her own children, so it’s understandable that they’d feel protective over her.
Paedon has always enjoyed a close, loving relationship with his mother, while he has become estranged from his father. Since adoption is easier when the child is adopted by a married couple, Kody legally divorced his first wife, Meri, so he could marry Robyn, which added to the family tension. During Paedon’s interview withThe Sun, he discussed his current relationship with Robyn’s kids.
“My relationships with Dayton and Aurora are now great. My relationship with Breanna is not good at all, but that’s because she is several years younger than me.”

During aSister WivesTell-All, Paedon sat down for an interview, and he talked about the problems in his household. He confessed that his mother, Christine, had been having problems with Kody for a long time, but he also talked about the fact thatPaedon didn’t think Robyn understoodwhat was going on in the family.
“Robyn sees what she sees,” Paedon told the Sister Wives audience.
Paedon was talking about Robyn’s assessment of the family dynamic, but heseemed to be specifically referencing her views on Kody and Christine’s relationship. Since Paedon was hearing his mother’s side of the story, he clearly had a different perspective on the matter than Kody or Robyn.

Though Kody insisted the strict rules were his idea, many of Kody’s children, including Paedon, blamed Robyn for enacting the rules and accused their father of going along with it because he was controlled by her.

Robyn sat down forSister Wivesseason 17’sOne On One: Part 3, during which she made an obnoxious comment abouther femaleSister Wives’castmates' bodies. “When I came into this family, I knew and I saw when there’s stretch marks and there’s weight gain … and there’s like — you’re being stagnant in your marriage and there’s fights and money problems or whatever it is …” Robyn said.
“He still had this romance going with each of them.”
Robyn brought this up in the context of Meri, Janelle, and Christine all embarking on weight-loss journeys. She was trying to say that she appreciated that Kody loved his wives even though they weren’t always perfect. It was a lovely sentiment, but she should have tried to communicate it without pointing out anyone’s imperfections. Though it was probably unintentional on Robyn’s part,it came off as passive-aggressive fat-shaming, which couldn’t have been lost on Paedon.

Garrison was Kody’s son with his second wife, Janelle Brown, and the two weren’t on speaking terms, for many of the same reasons that caused a riff between Kody and Paedon.
Though Garrison’s tragic death should show Kody and Paedon that life is short, the two men have not yet come back together as father and son.
