An affordable alternative to some of the more premium earbuds, the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro offers excellent value for money. With ANC, multipoint connection, customizable EQ settings, and decent battery life, they’re unbeatable for the price point.

Stable, Multipoint Wireless Connectivity

The SoundPeats Air4 Pro use Bluetooth 5.3 and deliver excellent wireless performance. They feature Snapdragon Sound and aptX Adaptive Lossless, offering a robust and stable connection with CD-quality lossless audio.

They also offer a multipoint connection facility, allowing you to connect two devices simultaneously. I paired these earbuds with my smartphone and PC and found switching between them a seamless and frustration-free experience.

Comfort in Sound: Design and Fit

The Air4 Pro are lightweight and comfortable and come with three different sizes of silicone ear tips to choose from. They are available in black, white, or beige, and feature silver or bronze accents, depending on the color scheme that you opt for.

With the right choice of ear tips, they sit snugly in your ear with very little risk of falling free and cause minimal discomfort, even when wearing them for long stretches.

The charging case is similarly lightweight with a nice, flatter design, that allows it to sit comfortably inside your pocket when in transit. It features a USB charging port on the bottom (with a USB-C charging cable included in the box), as well as a reset button.

There’s a useful LED indicator on the outside of the case to indicate current the battery level using the usual traffic light system (green is good, yellow is OK, and red means it’s time to charge them up), making it easy to check your power levels at a glance.

Sound Quality: Excellent for the Price

The Air4 Pro delivers excellent sound quality overall, particularly for the price point, and at every volume level. Their 13mm drivers produce a solid and respectable bass response, which holds up well against audio across the whole musical spectrum, from blistering metal to bleepy ambient electronica.

They feature three different sound modes: Normal, Passthrough (transparent), and ANC. Each mode offers clear and distortion-free audio, though I found that Passthrough Mode does create a slight hiss while engaged, but not enough to cause any major problems.

If I’m honest, the Passthrough Mode is the one that I’m least likely to use. If I find myself in a situation where I need to hear the world around me, I’m just as likely to remove one earbud and keep a free ear trained on my environment until I can switch back to ANC Mode.

However, many people like the peace of mind that a built-in transparency mode offers. And regardless of my personal preference, it’s good to see it catered for here. Provided you don’t mind a bit of hiss, it’s perfectly useable for those who prefer a less closed audio mode.

But the Air4 Pro’s Adaptive Noise Cancellation is the real jewel in its crown. With what could reasonably qualify as budget-priced earbuds, the ANC here is superb. Automatically adapting to your surroundings, they work hard to eliminate all noise pollution. Which is to say, they pass the public transport test with flying colors.

I had no problems whatsoever with the ANC here and was able to cocoon myself in music, in both open-air and enclosed surroundings. It’s effective and immersive, even when operating at half volume on my phone.

SoundPeats Audio App: Barebones, but Useful

At first glance, the SoundPeats Audio app (iOS/Android) may seem a little light. And while it’s fair to say it’s not exactly overcrowded with features, there’s enough here to satisfy and enrich your overall enjoyment of these earbuds.

Naturally, you’ll find equalizer settings that use simple but effective sliders to increase or reduce your levels until you get the right mix for your audio. Alternatively, you can use the SoundPeats classic EQ preset if you prefer not to noodle around with the settings, and you’ll find it offers a solid and balanced sound quality.

you may check your battery levels, as well as select your preferred noise reduction option (ANC, normal, or passthrough)—handy if you don’t fancy cycling through these settings via the touch controls every time you slip these earbuds into your lugs.

Additionally, you’ll find the switch for the Air4 Pro’s low-latency Gaming Mode in the app and the means to switch off the touch controls altogether (which I would recommend doing), if they’re causing you a few gripes.

Lastly, you can switch off the in-ear detection if you wish. Although, honestly, I don’t know why you would, as it’s an absolute winner.

Simply put, the SoundPeats Audio app may seem a little bare bones to some, but it’s intuitive to use, and it covers all the main bases well.

26 Hours of Battery Life

The SoundPeats Air4 Pro boasts a 26-hour battery life, including the charging case. Each earbud can last for up to six hours in Normal Mode, or a more modest four hours with ANC on.

Granted, it’s not the most impressive battery life we’ve seen in a pair of wireless earbuds, but it’s decent enough to get you through most short-haul journeys, or a day at the office when coupled with the charging case.

In addition, the in-ear detection feature is a great quality-of-life inclusion that can preserve a little battery life too, pausing your music the second you remove the earbud from your ear. Plus if you’re using solo bud mode, you can eke out more use from a single charge this way.

Should You Buy the SoundPeats Air4 Pro?

For the price point, the SoundPeats Air4 Pro offer excellent value for money.

Surprisingly feature-rich, with three built-in noise reduction modes, multipoint connection, customizable EQ settings, an 80ms gaming mode for low latency audio, plus my personal favorite—the fantastic in-ear detection mode. They’re versatile, easy to use, and provide high-quality playback.

While testing the Air4 Pro earbuds, I didn’t experience a single connectivity issue. They’re solid and dependable in the way we wish all wireless earbuds were and are a great grab-and-go option to accompany you from point A to point B.

My only gripe is that the touch controls feel a little over-sensitive, as I found that adjusting an earbud in my ear would often result in it switching from ANC to Normal Mode, or accidentally skipping a track, for instance. However, a quick visit to the SoundPeats Audio app soon fixed this issue, as I was able to disable this feature with the flick of a switch.

One minor quibble aside, the Air4 Pros more than justify their modest price tag (just under $80 at the time of writing), and make an excellent choice if you’re looking for some great wireless earbuds for everyday use.
