What Else Will The Duffer Brothers Do After Stranger Things Ends?

The Duffers Have Several Projects Lined Up

Stranger Thingshas been a mega success, but season 5 is set to wrap up the main story. There has been talk of several spinoffs moving forward, but little has been revealed about those just yet. The Duffers will seemingly keep busy as executive producers in the years following theStranger Thingsending, not just withSomething Very Bad Is Going To Happen, but with asci-fi series calledThe Boroughs(created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews) and a new adaptation ofDeath Note(to be written by Halia Abdel-Meguid).

AStranger Thingsanime spinoffis in the works, but there could be a live-action series on the way as well.

What’s unclear, however, is what the Duffers will do next as creators, showrunners, writers, and directors outside of their hit franchise.Stranger Thingsis very much a Duffer Brothers vision through and through, and they’re credited as writers and directors on many episodes. While it’s certainly exciting that they will be lending their expertise to projects hailing from other creators,it will be especially interesting when they announce a newStranger Things-level undertaking from their own minds.

7 Stranger Things Spinoffs That Could Actually Work After Season 5

The popular Netflix science fiction television series Stranger Things is set to conclude after season 5, but that doesn’t mean the story has to end.

Judging from the projects the pair will be executive producing, the Duffers may not be straying too far from the tone and genre ofStranger Things. The brothers clearly have an interest in sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, and it’s certainly possible that whatever show they create next will fit this same mold. Maybe it will even include someStranger Thingscastmembers. Many questions still remain aboutSomething Very Bad Is Going To Happen, including relating to casting and its release date, but the Duffers' involvement evidently makes it a project to keep an eye on.
