Summary
The Fantastic Fourwill debut next year, and concerns related to the team’s CGI in the characters' upcoming movie have been addressed. It is no secret that theMarvel Cinematic Universehas been going through a few ups and downs over the past few years. One of the biggest complaints of recent MCU projects is the fact that their CGI has been inconsistent. Thankfully, it seems like2025’s Fantastic Four MCU rebootwill not have to deal with VFX issues.
Speaking toCinemaBlend,Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige commented on the importance of getting the Fantastic Four’s powers right on the big screen. Feige started by praisingThe Fantastic Fourdirector Matt Shakman, who has experience with VFX-heavy productions likeGame of ThronesandMonarch: Legacy of Monsters. Feige noted that getting the heroes' powers right visually is very important for the movie. The executive also spoke about howThe Fantastic Four’s castinforms most of what the film is all about. Matt Shakman is very, very good at utilizing visual effects. The most important thing for us… the stretching’s gotta look cool, the rocky exterior of The Thing has got to look cool, the flames have got to look cool. [But] it’s all about the characters. It’s all about the family. It’s all about [those] dynamics. So the minute we got that cast that we’ve announced signed up, 90 percent of the work was done. That is what the focus is of the movie.

Why The Fantastic Four Needs To Get Its CGI Totally Right
It Is Crucial For The Marvel Movie
The Fantastic Fourneeds to get the characters' powers right on the big screen for a few reasons. The first of them being 2015’sFantastic Fourreboot got quite a few things wrong. One of them was related to the team’s powers, which failed to look exciting a lot of the time, with the Thing’s CGI look paling in comparison to the practical version of the 2000s Fantastic Four movies.
That does not mean Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm should have a practical look, as Hulk-level MCU VFX would be ideal for the Thing. The Fantastic Fouralso needs to get the heroes' powers to look visually stunning on the big screen so that they can hold up well next to other MCU characters. Players like Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Thor, and more always have top-notch CGI, making them part of some of Marvel’s most gripping fight scenes.

Most of all, the VFX for the Fantastic Four needs to be perfect due to how essential the heroes' powers are to them. Reed Richards is always stretching to do mundane tasks, Sue Storm often uses her invisibility and force fields, Johnny Storm likes to show off his fire and flight, and Ben Grimm is just constantly a moving pile of rocks. As such, faulty CGI would pull the movie down massively, and based on the excitement for the team’s MCU debut, Marvel has to pull all the stops to make sureThe Fantastic Fourdelivers.
