Summary

Nobody 2, the upcoming sequel toNobody, proves that we do not needJohn Wick: Chapter 5.TheJohn Wickfranchise covers the character of the same name (Keanu Reeves) as he continues to be brought back into the world he was once a part of as a hitman. With theconfirmation ofJohn Wick: Chapter 5, Reeves is set to come back to this world, and hopefully, he does not get another dog that is killed.

SinceBob Odenkirk’sNobody 2filming start date is soon, there is less need for anotherJohn Wickmovie. When watchingNobody, I noticed how it is such a fantastic action movie with many similarities to Keanu Reeves' franchise, but it is original enough to stand out. Since there has only been one installment so far, the story has much potential to grow. That being said,to make room in Hollywood for another revenge action flick, there is little to no need forJohn Wick: Chapter 5.

Nobody 2 Is The Action Movie Sequel I Needed (Not John Wick 5)

Plenty Of John Wick’s Story Has Already Been Told

Nobodyfollows Hutch (Odenkirk) after thieves break into his family’s home and rob them. He lets them go, and those around Hutch view him as a failure. Eventually, though, he hunts down these thieves and succeeds. Not only doeshis goal of tracking down the thieves spark lots of action, but it also exhibits significant character growth for Hutch. He is no longer seen as a failure. Hutch’s success further establishes his new reputation. In fact, he is called for his services to hunt people down again inNobody’s ending scene and sets upNobody 2.

UnlikeNobody,John Wick: Chapter 4does not set up another installment for the franchise. After recently re-watching it,I noticed that the franchise could have ended withJohn Wick: Chapter 4.This ending ultimately meansthere is no good way to makeJohn Wick: Chapter 5work. The success of the fourth film does make it possibly work. However, I fear this fifth installment will seem unnecessary and drag out the franchise longer than it should. It will, unfortunately, seem as though the franchise is trying to make money rather than build on the storyline.

The John Wick Franchise Is Amazing (But It Doesn’t Need A Fifth Movie)

I Thought The Franchise Ended Perfectly In John Wick: Chapter 4

TheJohn Wickmovies are great because the action goes hand-in-hand with the excellent storyline.John Wick’s past career as a hitman playing into his revenge narrative explains why he is fantastic in combat and makes me root for him. Plus, the series features a survey of martial arts styles and stars. There are even somemartial arts stars that I would love to see inJohn Wick:Chapter 5because of the franchise’s history. All of these aspects make up theJohn Wickmovies and allow the series to have the respectable action movie reputation it has today.

Indeed, John Wick does not actually die on screen in the fourth film and could still be alive for another revenge tale.

Despite the greatness of the series’movies and the fact that theJohn Wick: Chapter 5movie is in development, the fifth installment is still not needed. Indeed, John Wick does not actually die on screen in the fourth film and could still be alive for another revenge tale. His return to the storyline could also mean more great action. However, his death in the fourth film could have made him a fallen hero.He would not just be a character to make money off of, which is the possible outcome ofJohn Wick: Chapter 5.

How Bob Odenkirk’s Nobody Is Different From Keanu Reeves’ John Wick

It Focuses On An Unlikely, But Likable Hero

Although these franchises are similar, with both main characters being former assassins, some key differences exist between theJohn Wickmovies andNobody.Unlike the Keanu Reeves movies,Bob Odenkirk’s character has a family that is still around that he needs to protect. He has a little more at stake when his family home is attacked because it is not just his life on the line. This difference does not necessarily make theNobodyfilms better. However, it does make them stand out more.

Nobody 2

Nobody’s villains target Hutch randomly and are initially unaware that he is a former assassin. On the other hand, the villains in theJohn Wickseries target him because he is a former assassin. Thisdifference makes Bob Odenkirk’s film more enticing for me, as I see its villains discover who they are messing with, and have the potential to see this again in the sequel. This enticement is especially true sinceNobody 2cast a new villain to go up against Bob Odenkirk. Hutch can bring out his assassin skills to someone unfamiliar with his past again.

TheJohn Wickfranchise has had a great run, but the series should have concluded with the fourth film. It would have been sad to have the series end with John Wick’s death, but I would have learned to deal with it sinceNobody 2is being released. That said,John Wick: Chapter 5needs to move over to make room in Hollywood forNobody 2’s revenge story. When Bob Odenkirk’s franchise concludes, that series could step aside for another new Hollywood revenge tale.
