In the test of will otherwise known asConnections, players have to put the pieces together and form four categories of words. In today’s puzzle, the categories are not quite as complicated as they were in past days. So, take a breath, relax, and get ready to solve this puzzle with us.
In theConnectionspuzzle, things are not always what they seem. That is also true inpuzzles likeWordle, where you go through the same process to make a word instead of a category. This allows you to use your logical reasoning to make it through the puzzle and find the word of the day. Line inConnections, sometimes it is easier to rule out options rather than pick the right ones the first time, so keep that in mind as you solve the puzzle.

Today’s Connections Category Hints
JULY 8 #392
The categories in today’s puzzle are fairly straightforward and might well be all you need to complete it. However, in case you are still not sure on a few words, the answers are spoiled down below.
TIP
TRICK
Here on these guides, we give TIPS and TRICKS, so spotting this was a bit lucky for us. Additionally, POINTER and SUGGESTION make good synonyms that we might have to use in upcoming articles. However, given all that, this category was easier for us than most, although we actually solved it second.
SPIRIT
WILL
Perhaps we have played too many card games using these words, but seeing GRIT and WILL triggered our card game instincts, and we found SPIRIT and RESOLVE very quickly after. So our gaming instincts in general did very much help us out with this puzzle. The last two categories were a little harder, but not as hard as they have been the past few days.
8 Vertex Strategies To Quickly Solve The Picture
The New York Times Vertex game asks you to form a picture by connecting dots, but you have to understand the image to solve this puzzle quickly.
PATRONIZE
VISIT
Admittedly, there are a lot of Halloween-themed words in this puzzle, including HAUNT, SPIRIT, and TRICK. However, we had the other words gone already so figuring out that it meant something like visiting often helped us. This then made it easy to get the last category of the day, which was a bit odd.
OFTEN
OZONE
While it is an odd category, luckily none of these words majorly cross over with any of the other categories. This in turn made those categories simpler to put together, and then gave us the ability to pick the remaining words to form this one. So while it may not be easy in itself, that can sometimes be of benefit to you. It’s worth checking to see if the most seemingly disconnected words actually go together.
