Today’s Connections Category Hints

NOVEMBER 26 #534

If you need a few hints to get you started,we have one for each category. This could well break the whole puzzle wide open, and you should take advantage of that as you go between this guide and the puzzle itself. I think this one could be easy depending on the type of person you are and how much time you spend in a certain grocery lane.

10 Strands Strategies To Quickly Solve The Theme

Strands is one of New York Times' many puzzle games that consists of a unique 6x8 word search that requires players to use zig-zag solutions.

If you are still wondering abouthow to separate and differentiate between these words, we have more answers for you. The first is in the form of the category names in the box below, but we have even more answers after that.

PROMOTION

RAISE

This first category is all about things I would almost always like to see. These days, it can feel like things at work are only negative, but finding the right fit for you and a place where good things do happen is essential! Even with all of that in mind, it took me two tries to get this category, as the first time I did not use EQUITY,but instead had DISCOUNT selected. It is one of the main perks of working in retail or customer service, after all. However, EQUITY does apply much more broadly across the board.

IGNORE

OVERLOOK

After not using DISCOUNT in the category before, it was this word’s time to shine. I didn’t see it right away, mainly as I was thinking about it more quantitatively, but it does fit in with all of these other words in a different context. Don’t OVERLOOK the other words either,as they all were a happy little clump in my puzzle. It is a good thing that I had guessed the other category first, as otherwise I am not sure if I would have continued to IGNORE the alternative meaning of DISCOUNT.

8 NYT Spelling Bee Strategies To Keep Your Streak Alive

The Spelling Bee puzzles created as a New York Times game build a streak of correct answers to get you more points, but they can be hard to keep.

GOLDFISH

RITZ

This one will either be very easy for you to guess or very hard or, at the least, that is my initial gut feeling while looking at these words. The instinct is to put all of the animals in a category together, but that would be far too easy. Instead, two animal-related words will go in each of the remaining two categoriesjust to mess with us. RITZ, however, is a great clue for this one, and GOLDFISH might be as well unless you FORGET about those little crackers of goodness.

PUG

TURTLE

The last category today certainly did something different than I have seen in the last six months I have written these guides.ELOISE is both a word in the category and one in the category nameas well. Usually, it will say something like “Things That Appeared In X Movie” but not this time. It did confuse me and I wondered what I was missing, but it was a lot of fun to see the reference play out in a different fashion.
