Ackles made his first appearance as part of theTrackercastin episode 12, titled “Off the Books.” Though their interactions are cordial enough, there is some obvious tension because ofthe strange family history that Colter and Russell share. Flashbacks in the CBS series reveal Colter’s unusual upbringing. His dad, Ashton (played by Lee Tergesen), took his wife and kids to live in a compound and exhibited extreme paranoia. That is immediately brought up when the two brothers meet up.
