Flula Borg’s Javelin Can Still Return In Other DC Projects
As expected from Javelin and other Z-list anti-heroes like Javelin, Savant, Blackguard, and Mongal, most of Task Force X died a brutal death at the beginning ofThe Suicide Squad.Gunter Braun a.k.a. Javelinwas slightly luckier than most of his fallen teammates, as he was only shot to death and survived long enough to gift his javelin to Harley Quinn, who eventually took down Starro with the weapon.Despite his death, Javelin can return in the DCU as a new version of the character, with a similar appearance and abilities, but with a backstory that excludes his failed mission with Task Force X.
Otherwise, Flula Borg can play a different DCU character with more interesting abilities and a story with more potential for future appearances. Nathan Fillion’s TDK is one of the Task Force X members who died at the beginning ofThe Suicide Squad, yetJames Gunn cast Fillion as the Green Lantern Guy Gardnerfor the DCU’s first live-action project, 2025’sSuperman. Similarly, Flula Borg could play a secondary character in any of the DCU’s upcoming projects, fromSupergirl: Woman of TomorrowtoPeacemakerseason 2 itself.
How 1 James Gunn Veteran Actor Could Still Play His Dream DC Role Outside The DCU
James Gunn has said that he wants to bring Guardians of the Galaxy actors to the DCU, but a major star could get his dream DC role outside the DCU.
Flula Borg and Javelin can also return separately. As Borg plays a different character in the DCU, Javelin could show up in one or two DCU projects, interacting with other heroes and villains.Walleris a DCU show that could include either, as Viola Davis' Amanda Waller may or may not have recruited or at least set her sights on obscure villains and anti-heroes like Javelin. Either way, if Flula Borg and James Gunn find the right story, theDCUreboot might not be a problem for Borg’s return.
