Coach Ben Scott (Steven Krueger) begs to be killed in theYellowjacketsseason 3, episode 6 trailer. After being voted guilty of his crimes, it is decided that Coach Ben will be shot and killed. He is spared from this fate after Akilah (Nia Sondaya) has a vision which leads her to believe that he is the"bridge"to getting the teenage survivors home. This act of mercy is short-lived, as duringYellowjacketsseason 3, episode 5’s ending, Shauna Shipman (Sophie Nélisse) hasMelissa (Jenna Burgess) cut the Achilles tendon in his remaining footso he can never walk away.
Paramount+ has now shared the episode 6 trailer (viaTV Promos) in whichCoach Ben begs Natalie Scattorcio (Sophie Thatcher) to kill himafter being the one to officially sentence him to death.Lottie Matthews (Courtney Eaton) insists that he cannot die because of Akilah’s vision. She and the other teens engage in a ritual that involves them dancing around the fire, until the ritual is interrupted by a shocking surprise. In the present-day timeline, the investigation into the death of adult Lottie (Simone Kessell) continues. Check out the trailer below:
What This Means For Yellowjackets Season 3
Coach Ben’s Fate & Lottie’s Death Continue To Be The Focus
InYellowjackets' past timeline, no character has suffered more in season 3 than Coach Ben. As horrible as it would have been for Taissa Turner (Jasmin Savoy Brown) to shoot and kill him, it arguably would have been more merciful than the prolonged captivity and torment he is now experiencing. Natalie feels responsible for Coach Ben’s suffering, and she is more honorable than many of the other Yellowjackets. Shemay be swayed by Coach Ben demanding that she keep her promise, although going against the will of the group could cause her to lose her leadership position.
“He’s The Bridge”: What Akilah’s Vision About Coach Ben Means In Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 5
Akilah has a vision and says Coach Ben Scott is a “bridge” in Yellowjackets season 3, episode 5, but what does this vision really mean?
In the present,Misty Quigley (Christina Ricci) seems to be back to her old selfas she casually hands over biological material from Lottie’s corpse. With Callie Sadecki (Sarah Desjardins) revealing the tape left by the mysterious stalker, and suggesting that it may have something to do with what happened to Lottie, there is a chance to definitively connect the two storylines in this episode. If that involves listening to the tape, it will be intriguing to hear what is on it, and if it is from the Yellowjackets' time in the wilderness or from after they were rescued.
A Major Question May Soon Be Answered

The focus on Coach Ben and the investigation into Lottie’s death looks promising, but I ammost intrigued by what Shauna and the rest of the teens are so shocked by at the end of the trailer. I am hopeful that whatever it is will answer some ofYellowjackets' biggest questions and mysteries. It is unclear whether Coach Ben and his desire for death ties into this new revelation, but a major shift in the wilderness seems poised to happen in the nextYellowjacketsepisode.
