Believe it or not,Fred Durstis still making music, and he’s added something else to his artistic portfolio as well. There are a few ways people may know the name Fred Durst. The Limp Bizkit Frontman Appeared In I Saw The TV Glow & Y2K
In 2006, Limp Bizkit went on hiatus, and in that time, Fred Durst became interested in Hollywood. He made two independent movies before the band reunited in 2009, the dramaThe Education of Charlie Banksin 2007 and the sports dramedyThe Longshotsin 2008. Then in 2024,Durst appeared in two acclaimed indie movies,I Saw the TV GlowandY2K, and he’s fantastic in both. InI Saw the TV Glow, Durst plays Frank, the silent stepfather of the protagonist Owen (Justice Smith). While Frank doesn’t say much, his suffocating presence in Owen’s life is enough, and watching Owen have to tiptoe around his foreboding stepdad is stressful and tense. Durst plays a completely different character in Kyle Mooney’s disaster comedyY2K, in which he plays a version of himself.

Y2Kis more obvious in its acknowledgment of Durst’s fame and, while the high schoolers’ obsession with Bizkit and Durst is tongue-in-cheek, the frontman is totally game to mock himself.
In this film, Durst teams up with a gang of high schoolers to survive the sudden animation of every appliance on Earth, which are now set on wiping out humanity. Both movies use Durst’s ’90s fame to a degree.I Saw the TV Glowis filled with ’90s media references, making Durst a reference himself.Y2Kis more obvious in its acknowledgment of Durst’s fame and, while the high schoolers' obsession with Bizkit and Durst is tongue-in-cheek, the frontman is totally game to mock himself. They’re both quality performances and show a high degree of range for the unseasoned actor.

Himself
While both roles are semi-stunt castings,Durst has much more acting talent than he’s ever shown before. He could very well be appearing in more films and TV shows in the future, either referencing his persona, or even playing a character all his own. He can clearly handle it.
